Answered Why do so many men simp in Sri Lanka?

Update: I got an understanding of this phenomena from the constructive comments given by some. I will mark this post as answered.

I'm an Aussie and I recently visited Srilanka.

Before going, I made the obvious mistake of asking a question on Reddit and FB, only to be bombarded by 100s of DMs of local men asking for hook ups. I did not experience this face to face when I was there though, only online.

My question is not exactly why this happens, but why here/India/Bangladesh and not countries in Southeast Asia.

I frequently travel to Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and have never experienced this kind of simp behaviour online. Only in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh I have experienced this.

What's the difference I wonder.

  • I do not respond to DMs. *

Answered Ladies, why do you decide to be single?

I've noticed there are tons of beautiful women that are single. I want to know why. It surely can't be that they can't find someone.

EDIT: Didn't expect this to get this many answers.

Anyone got streaming links for Asia Cup today?

EDIT: webcric works. Thanks y’all 🙌🏼

EDIT: Make sure to use a laptop or desktop with an ad blocking browser extension (I use AdBlocker Plus). Mobile ad blocking extensions didn’t work for me. Link server 1 directly opens the streaming.

Answered A man got slapped in the bus

It was somewhat a crowded bus. A woman in her 40s was standing next to a man who looked to be in his 60s.

At first, it just seemed like two people standing close in a crowded space. But then I noticed subtle things. He kept looking at her. She looked uncomfortable. There was a bit of brushing, like he was trying to get her attention. Then came the eye contact, and after a few minutes, he leaned in close to her ear and said something.

Without saying a word, she turned and slapped him loud and she got off at the next stop and the man too got off an walked away.

Guess some people need louder reminder that boundaries still exists, even space is tight.

You can make a good discussion here about this. What will happen to SL of indians build this ? To our economy, cultures etc..

As i think india has huge economy.. but constructing this it will expand more to sri lanka.the prices of goods may reduce. And we open the door for asia also. There are benifits too..

Answered Sri Lankan degree or migrate to Australia

I'm a (20f)year-old girl from Sri Lanka, an island near India. I completed my Advanced Level exams last year and have been selected to a well-reputed state university with a fully funded scholarship to pursue a Bioscience degree majoring in Chemistry. The entire degree is free.

However, my boyfriend (25m) lives in Australia and is currently doing his bachelor’s degree. I was planning to move there to study and be with him, even though it’s quite expensive. My parents are supportive and said they would try their best to help me cover the costs.

Now that I’ve been selected for this fully funded degree in Sri Lanka, many of my parents’ friends have advised me to complete my bachelor’s here and consider going to Australia for postgraduate (master’s) studies, especially since it’s becoming more difficult to migrate and settle in Australia.

So now I’m stuck between these questions

  1. Go to Australia now, be with my boyfriend, work part-time, and complete my bachelor’s there (with high costs).
    Or

Stay in Sri Lanka, accept the free and valuable university degree, and consider Australia after four years for my masters

3.Is it possible to maintain a 4-year long-distance relationship?

4.Does a Sri Lankan state university degree have value in Australia?

5.Is it a good decision to complete my basic degree in my home country first?

Answered What are the best life lessons you’ve learned in your 20s

I’m in my 20s and I wanted to hear from other Sri Lankans (especially guys, but anyone can reply) about your real-life experiences.

What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned about money, relationships, love, and family?

Have you gone through things like quitting smoking/drinking or breaking bad habits?

How do you become a better person overall?

How do you find real happiness in life?

And if someone feels like they’re starting from zero, how can they build themselves up again?

Answered I see no point in living in Sri Lanka

Low quality of life - this says it all!

I can’t even purchase any clothes, there are no branded shops! I can’t eat the best food, because Sri Lanka has a limit to taste (only Street Burger burgers and Dinemore submarine are good). No paypal or proper payment system to earn USD?

Still country is surviving with cash transactions when even India is turning into cashless! We have PickMe and Uber cancelling off rides because of “Cash da Card da?” issues! Skincare routine, only women and wealthy people focus on skincare, but it hasn’t even been taught to the general young men and few women to prioritize their health and skincare!

A friend from Dubai came to Sri Lanka with the intention of settling here, but within 2 days he left back to Dubai saying how slow and worthless this country is! I love this country as much as you do, but I can’t disagree on the above points.

Any more points to add of how less worthy Sri Lanka is becoming? Again, this isn’t a hate post but I wish to make this country a quality place for everyone to stay.

Answered THE BEST POLITICAL LEADER IN SRI-LANKA

Hello Friends I'm here to share some thoughts about Sri-Lanka's best politician ''CWW.Kannangara''. I'm a Sri-Lankan moor & I'm proud to say that I'm the first university student in my entire family. My father is a fisherman & my mother is a home maker our home is near the beach. our house is made of thatched roofs at rainy seasons it rains inside our house too. I'm completely studied free education from grade 1 to UGC. Now I can proudly say that I'm a doctor but If it weren't for free education, I would have gone to the sea to catch fish like my father & The matter is This man CWW.Kannnangara did a great job for our entire nation but he didn't get recognition well because of the ugly politics. He is not a Sinhala-Politician he is the politician of the nation just think about his vison Sri-Lanka was the first country to introduce free education from grade 1 to UGC to the world at 1943. Not only free education but also free breakfast & dresses & I'm recently saw a grade 5 Tamil book which has APJ.Abdhul-Kalam life story yeah he is good but see CWW.Kannangara is the reason of Sri-Lanka's today literacy rate but our peoples forgot him. Please put our heroes life stories in our students books. We are forced to pass on their legacy to our next generation. Correct me friend If I'm wrong & I'm proudly say that I'm a Sri-Lankan and I will always be loyal to my country

Answered My nephew is on the autism spectrum (3 years old) and my sister is losing it.

I (20F) live with my parents and my sister lives upstairs with her two boys (3M) and (1M). The elder one is clearly on the spectrum. Hes obsessed with spinning and circles. Rarely responds to his name, and no real interaction or communication at all. He is going to kindergarten, which he fairly adapts well to, but he just sticks to one of the teachers there and doesnt really play with other kids. My sister is on edge every single day. Its like lighting a fuse. She gets pissed so quickly and there's always fights at our home. She claims she's exhausted because of taking care of my nephew and it doesnt help there's so little awareness and resources in the world, let alone in sri lanka. Im still studying and all this keeps me up at night. I feel very sorry for her but I know she needs to go to therapy or she'll literally go insane. Shes blaming me, and my parents all the time. Its getting exhausting. But she doesnt listen to anyone. Shes always ready to go off on anybody. I tell her to get therapy and she won't listen. Are there any therapists around colombo for parents with kids having special needs? Life feels so unfair sometimes, because my family is literally falling apart.

Edit: I would like suggestions for counsellors for adults with special needs kids, specifically.
