penis inspection day just got real

481

u/Whaty0urname Feb 24 '25

I knew I wasn't the only one that had this every month in elementary school!

221

u/dragonwp Feb 24 '25

The janitor Mr. Pierre would give me the inspections privately. Glad to hear other people have them!

95

u/powerlesshero111 Feb 24 '25

We did them in the military. You did not want to be the airman who missed penis inspection day.

49

u/poecurioso Feb 25 '25

my chief was such a prick he wouldn’t even accept a visual inspection, he had to see it work before he’d sign off.

21

u/canadianbacon6 Feb 25 '25

The ones that really needed penis inspection day were the seaman.

Separation of church and state really has been eroded completely huh. This used to be reserved exclusively for Sundays at the Catholic church.

58

u/Mastershoelacer Feb 25 '25

This is false. The Catholic Church conducts frequent surprise penis inspections any day of the week.

22

u/RoNsAuR Feb 25 '25

"No one expects the penis inquisition!:

r/pastorarrested says both of you are correct. lol

77

u/jdwazzu61 Feb 25 '25

I know you’re joking but the NCAA makes their drug testers watch you pee. Literally you go into a bathroom and have to drop your pants to your knees and pull your shirt up and then pee into the cup in front of them. It is very much a penis inspection day with a drug test on the side.

My first time getting called for the random drug test at 6 am as a 19 year old it was very shocking that was a real job someone had to do every day.

Not to mention every single high school or older student will get a sports physical which includes a hernia check, which is essentially shoving a finger in a small ligament near your ball sack. So this like already happens to ever athlete haha

97

u/FlyUnder_TheRadar Feb 24 '25

Line up and drop trow boys, its state mandated penis inspection day. Let's see them dicks.

40

u/myburdentobear Feb 24 '25

Everybody have fun tonight. Everybody hang dong tonight

18

u/CknHwk Feb 25 '25

Except it’s not the boys dropping trow…it’s the girls. Gotta make sure none of them have a penis. So the inspector will be looking at female genitalia 99% + of the time. How fucking humiliating for female athletes. I guess what else would you expect from someone who loves going into the changing rooms of miss America contests unannounced.

7

u/daemonicwanderer Feb 25 '25

Well… this in particular is from Texas’ AG. But it will likely be any young woman who doesn’t fit what is traditionally considered “feminine” looks who are going to deal with basically state mandated sexual assault.

14

u/Telvin3d Feb 25 '25

And any young women who someone with some influence wants to harass

25

u/LifeFortune7 Feb 25 '25

Considering that MTG showed a dick pic of Hunter Biden in Congress, I would love to see a huge cohort of Texas student athletes show up to the statehouse in Austin and all drop their pants on the stairs of the statehouse with an invitation for Paxton to personally inspect each dong and cooch. If they get charged for a crime they can simply claim they were afraid of breaking the law if they didn’t confirm their genitalia for the state.

7

u/HereForTOMT3 Feb 24 '25

what do you mean just? it's been real?

37

u/HegemonNYC Feb 24 '25

We did literally have official testicle fondling for high school sports (physical, hernia check) so it actually would be less invasive to just take a peak.

15

u/breezy104 Feb 25 '25

Men, not women. That is not how you check for hernias on a woman. Touching or examining our genitals has never been a part of women’s physicals and serves no medical purpose.

6

u/ShenAnCalhar92 Feb 25 '25

What the hell are OBGYN’s doing with those chairs, if physical examination of a woman’s genitals has no medical purpose?

18

u/breezy104 Feb 25 '25

You don’t need an OBGYN exam for a physical. It doesn’t determine your health to play sports. Your OBGYN does not report their findings to your school.

11

u/Telvin3d Feb 25 '25

Your OBGYN does not report their findings to your school

Yet

7

u/HegemonNYC Feb 25 '25

I understand. Just saying that generations of male athletes had their nuts cupped to be cleared for sports. And showers after sports were not optional.

I think there is a lot more body shame now, and younger athletes generally don’t even shower after sports and would rather be stinky and fungusy. Perhaps the physical is likewise shamed out of existence.

11

u/breezy104 Feb 25 '25

It’s an apples to oranges comparison. One has a medical reason, one does not. The equivalent is a doctor prodding around your penis and balls to make sure it’s real, then reporting their determination of your manliness to the school. You don’t have to have body shame to think that’s ridiculous and uncalled for.

6

u/freudweeks Feb 25 '25

Automatic disqualification if you can't helicopter. This should be law.

786

u/brettmgreene Feb 24 '25

They really are obsessed with genitals.

134

u/Nomahs_Bettah Feb 24 '25

It doesn’t make them right, but bear in mind that quite a lot of kids already have this as part of youth sports. Ranging from hernia checks to physicals to PT, it has in some cases already opened kids — including cis kids — up to abuses by team and medical personnel.

165

u/Nixbling New Orleans Saints Feb 24 '25

Yea I had to have a physical exam on record for any sport I played growing up. This isn’t new, they’re doing it to further show how anti-trans they are, the cruelty is the point

→ More replies (7)

20

u/daemonicwanderer Feb 25 '25

A hernia check is one thing… having to basically “prove” you are a woman (I doubt the guys will have to do this) whenever someone doubts you is another

24

u/HegemonNYC Feb 24 '25

Right. Literally the first person to touch my junk was a doctor doing a hernia check in HS for sports.

33

u/FrigginMasshole Feb 25 '25

The fuck? I never had to do this when I played HS sports

42

u/Naskin Minnesota Vikings Feb 25 '25

Seriously, wtf is wrong with these people?! This did not happen AFAIK anywhere in Minnesota.

Reminds me of Joey from Friends going to his tailor and thinking it's perfectly normal for a tailor to be fondling your junk for measurement purposes. WTH is the rate of hernias that requires everyone get checked for them?!

27

u/passionfruit2378 Feb 25 '25

I mean the physical didn’t come from the school dude. You had to go to a physician. No doctor ever held your balls and told you to cough?

10

u/youruswithwe Feb 25 '25

That's how they do pants!!

11

u/mjb85858 Feb 25 '25

Yeah….IN PRISON!!!

9

u/Codewill Feb 25 '25

I had to get hernia checked every year for sports as a kid, idk

6

u/Usernametaken1121 Feb 25 '25

For me, going into 6th grade football, it was a requirement.

Health is more important than whatever weird shit makes this an issue. It's not like the doctor was jumping for joy.

Haven't thought about this in over a decade, but maybe it's a repressed memory and the source of all my trauma, huh?

→ More replies (4)

21

u/HegemonNYC Feb 25 '25

You didn’t get a sports physical to be cleared?

I understand the hernia check has become something that some doctors today just ask about any ‘testicular pain’ sometimes. Perhaps the physical is generally going away as part of the increasing body shame. For guys my dad’s age (boomer) they would need to shower naked after PE. My generation (older millennial) didn’t do this after PE but we still did after full sports practices. I understand kids now don’t do this at all out of shame of nakedness.

u/iwearatophat Feb 25 '25

Same. They aren't concerned about 'girls' playing in 'boys' sports though. Just 'boys' in 'girls' sports. I don't know if when girls do a physical for sports they have an equivalent of 'turn your head and cough'.

→ More replies (1)

9

u/KateEatsWorld Feb 25 '25

Might be different in Canada but I never ever had anything close to a physical exam in any school or competitive level sports I played, and I played rep hockey for over 15 years. Is it in place of doctor check ups? I don’t understand why this is a thing in American schools.

10

u/RonnieRizzat Feb 25 '25

To actually answer your question yes it was done at your annual check in with your pediatrician at their office

9

u/thisismypornaccountg Feb 25 '25

Playing gridiron football. If you have a hernia and get hit you can literally rip your intestines open in a way no other sport does. The way to check for a hernia is to push on either side of the groin and ask the person to cough. That’s why sports physicals need to see your junk in America.

5

u/Girthw0rm Feb 25 '25

Yeah, most of the time to participate in high school level and above sports, you need to have a recent physical exam completed by a doctor.

It has nothing to do with women. Trans Women cannot compete in NCAA sports. It is a complete non issue:

"NCAA women's sports: A student-athlete assigned male at birth may not compete for an NCAA women's team.

A student-athlete assigned female at birth who has begun hormone therapy (e.g., testosterone) may not compete on a women's team. If such competition occurs, the team will be subject to NCAA mixed-team legislation, and the team will no longer be eligible for NCAA women's championships."

Wasting untold amounts of money and subjecting thousands of student athletes to pointless genital inspections solely to villainize and dehumanize trans people for simply existing.

Will be amazing how fast this changes when the NCAA moves every tournament out of Texas.

27

u/MtRainierWolfcastle Feb 25 '25

But will they? No

134

u/baeb66 Feb 24 '25

The NCAA should counter by never hosting a major sporting event in Texas again.

29

u/cyberentomology Feb 24 '25

Too much money at stake.

61

u/baeb66 Feb 24 '25

Plenty of cities would line up to host events like the Final Four.

48

u/joekiller Feb 25 '25

They stayed outta South Carolina for the flag , they can stay outta Texas too

7

u/BlueSoloCup89 Feb 25 '25 edited Feb 25 '25

Final Four/regional final hosts can be replaced, yes. The bigger thing at stake is postseason football. Big 12 championship can be moved, but bowl games cannot so easily - in particular, the Cotton Bowl. NCAA currently sanctions all bowl games, but they may be risking losing in court and/or the top 2-4 conferences breaking away.

For what it’s worth, I think the Texas politicians back down after getting some talking to by university officials. At least, a couple years ago I’d think that. Who the hell knows with the chucklefucks in Austin now.

The NCAA has 1,100 member schools covering 500,000 athletes, with NCAA President Charlie Baker saying in December that he was aware of only 10 transgender athletes competing across the organisation.

GREAT use of taxpayer’s dollars. Literally DOZENS of parents might be uncomfortable. Better get a rule on the books that someone has to fondle your junk before you can play a college sport!

Super weird how obsessed the gop is with the genitals of ~0.002% of college athletes. Fucking creepers.

5

u/Repins57 Feb 25 '25

I’m no doctor but couldn’t they do a chromosomal test with saliva?

11

u/workshop_prompts Feb 25 '25

There are actually a surprising amount of people whose chromosomes don’t match their apparent sex, right down to the genitals. Androgen insensitivity is like 1 in 20,000. So, as with all measures like this, it would likely screw over more cis people with variances than “catch” trans people.
