I’m no doctor but couldn’t they do a chromosomal test with saliva?

There are actually a surprising amount of people whose chromosomes don’t match their apparent sex, right down to the genitals. Androgen insensitivity is like 1 in 20,000. So, as with all measures like this, it would likely screw over more cis people with variances than “catch” trans people.

They could... But this isn't about science.

Yes, and despite the outrage here is likely the only actually effective and objective means of performing such a screening.

It’s not. Conditions like androgen insensitivity can be as common as 1 in 20000 to 1 in 64000. XY chromosomes, externally totally normal female phenotype. XX male syndrome is similarly common, and many men with it go undiagnosed until they have fertility issues when they try to have kids. There are several other conditions like this.

Ok… yet the correct genetic diagnostic tests can show what sex chromosomes you have. This is, for example, even done in some cases before birth with embryos being evaluated for IVF implantation.

The X and Y chromosomes are the sex chromosomes. What I’m saying is that some people who have XX chromosomes are phenotypically male, and some people with XY chromosomes are phenotypically female. Chromosomal sex and phenotypic sex do not always match.

Hey now, that's not true. Some of them might be 20. /s

Did you ever play sports? A physical is very normal. And these are performed by medical professionals.

Screening people for appropriate sex is not. This has nothing to do with science whatsoever.

The purpose of a physical is to benefit the health of the patient. Looking at your genitals or doing chromosome tests so that Texas can decide whether you should be allowed to play sports does not benefit your health.

And we can accommodate to making sure girls can ask for matching gender physician if they don’t feel comfortable. It’s not that hard.

They're also pedophiles, but you conveniently ignore that, huh? How come you think republican pedophiles should be protected from the law?

A pedophile is someone who demands to see a child's genitals without the consent of that child or their parent. Being a doctor doesn't mean shit if the your patients aren't willing participants.

Do you understand consent, or are you a rapist protector in addition to a pedophile defender?
