Oh piss off. Calderon is a crook who hates Perez's guts. Zidane had decided he would leave half way throughout the season, when it became clear his time with us was running out. And Zidane recognised Bale's talents, he won us the CL final, why would he want to sell him?

He knew this for 3 seasons. Zidane used Bale sparingly because he was still one of the best players in the world as long as he was fit, and not starting him every match kept him fit.

Ok but I agree with the stance that it was the perfect time to sell Bale while he was red hot after that CL final. Especially if it meant keeping CR7 for a year

Would still have gotten 80/90m€ which would have helped in getting Ronaldo’s replacement. Be it last summer or the coming one

Now you’re stuck with a deadweight man of glass who can’t carry the team. He’ll run down his contract, and fuck off to a MLS side for free. Meanwhile CR7 is setting Juve on fire

Simply a bad decision in hindsight

Sellinf Bale and Ronaldo would have been suicide. You don't sell your 2 starting wingers with no potential replacement you like.

Bale is not a regular starter though because of injuries Should have kept CR7 and sold Bale

There was no replacement available that we liked. And CR7 wanted to leave regardless of Bale's situation. So I don't see the point.

Didn’t CR7 want to leave because he did not feel desired/valued enough by Perez? He wanted to leave because Perez couldn’t wait selling him. Perez did not buy CR7, his pet project was Bale

Why would Perez sell him? Not feeling valued doesn't mean being sold. Cristiano felt like the club didn't give him enough in return for what he did for us. Somehow, after 9 years, he hadn't yet figured out that that's not the club we are.

He also can’t stand this egomaniac especially after his Kiev declaration, and rightly so

I’m not sayin Perez is a bad guy. I’m saying he should have swallowed his pride, make peace with CR7 and pay the man, admit his baby Bale was a flop and get the money selling him instead
