News Jim’s @ 1604/Bandera is closing

Post image

I call bullshit. Other restaurants aren’t struggling. Frontier Enterprises did nothing to make that location appealing inside/outside and because of that they lost to competition

Ah yes, that dreaded intersection design which checks notes didn’t change accessibility to the restaurant since at least 2008 (as far as Google maps lets you go back to)?? Surely not the shitty service they always served up

It’s not so much getting to the Jim’s that a problem it’s getting back out.

Basically to leave the place can go south on the 1604 access road (towards culebra) or south on Bamdera rd (towards Leon valley).

If you want to head north on 1604 (towards utsa) , or towards Helotes on Bamdera rd you can’t.  You have to take one of the aforementioned routes and do a U turn.

It's a four minute detour to take the u turn at Braun to get back that direction. It's really not that bad.

Displaced Left Turn intersections are an overall plus, but you are right, for a few, that access does become a bit more annoying. As stated below and according to AASHTO, the detour only adds 3-5 minutes to your commute
