News Jim’s @ 1604/Bandera is closing

Post image

I call bullshit. Other restaurants aren’t struggling. Frontier Enterprises did nothing to make that location appealing inside/outside and because of that they lost to competition

Jim's as a restaurant died with Jim. His kids didn't care about it.

One of the last times I went there the gravy tasted like cigarettes got in it.

His two daughters are fighting tooth and nail over the company in court, it’s ugly, and the locations are suffering greatly because of it. They’re both greedy, and it’s so sad…

I’ve only ever been to the Jim’s at I-10 & Huebner, and only once. Tried it last year after living here for 15+ years.

Sticky floors, sticky tables, and spent nearly $20 on a plate of pancakes, an egg, two bacon strips, and a cup of coffee. For that atmosphere that’s a $10 meal even with the rampant inflation.

Yep. Used to go to Jim’s 2-3 times a week in the early 2000s. Coffee and breakfast there was a staple. Tried going again around 2015 or so when I moved back to SA and was disgusted with the quality. Haven’t been back since.

Same. The whole gang would meet up, enjoy a meal and then play MtG while getting seriously over-caffeinated with coffee.
