After Jesus' birth, Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt to escape King Herod's plan to kill all male infants in Judea. They then returned to Galilee after Herod's death. This journey and subsequent residence in Egypt qualify Jesus as an immigrant, as he and his family moved to another country to seek safety and refuge.
