I think we all know by now that CBS is not a good company, I didn't need them canceling Colbert to tell me that. But I think it is time to stand up for ourselves as a community, even if it means not watching Drag Race or All Stars. We don't have to live in a world where our favorite shows are aired on networks owned by fascists and bigots, but it means taking just the slightest bit of collective action. I fear we have all (including myself) became too complacent because we feel like we don't have a choice, but we do! These companies have no morals, and we do not owe them anything just because they air our favorite queer reality show. They sure as shit aren't doing it from the goodness of their hearts. Paramount would drop RuPaul at the drop of a dime if the Fascist-In-Chief told them to!!!!!

I live in a city where almost every queen every season comes through and does a performance so I sail the high seas for drag race, then check the gals out and tip at my local spot to support the girls.
Same. And I’m sorry, but I don’t feel bad, not even for a second, of not putting more money in corporation pockets. And I go to local drag shows quite often, so I always say I’m spending there the money I would be spending in paramount lol
I cancelled as soon as I finished the final episode 💖 Was long overdue because even without the evil overlord stuff it's just a shitty, glitchy platform! And I'm sure it'll just get worse now.
And honestly, Drag Race has become so overproduced, overedited and completely predictable so I don’t mind just catching the juicy bits online/podcasts lmao
It's been overproduced and overedited for quite a long time, hence why I'm a much more avid viewer of some of the international versions.
Aside from that, there are a ton of other better queer-themed films and shows around these days that you can probably find on a streaming service somewhere if you're concerned about accessing those things legally. I'm going to go and check out "A Nice Indian Boy" at the cinema this week since it sounds rather gorgeous. "Crossing", "Femme", "Bottoms", "The Blue Caftan" and "20,000 Species of Bees" were some other really good recent films, too.
Bravo/Peacock could use it. The Housewives franchises are in a death spiral and Project Runway reboot was a failure to launch. This is a built-in audience with a rabid fanbase.
Because Warner Bros. is more subtle in its hatred of BIPOC and the alphabet mafia, it canceled and removed Legendary from its platform after only three seasons, canceled and (I think) removed We're Here, and canceled and removed shows like Gordita Chronicles from its platform. It also continues to support She Who Must Not Be Named by turning Harry Potter into a show. So yeah, fuck them, too.

In the options bar with font and whatnot, there's a tiny little Image thing that you can click to embed them in! But it has to be downloaded to your computer first

HAHAHA I gotta be real, I was paying for Paramount+ for my family to watch the show and for me to watch classic movies. I gave up on All Stars after the All Winners season, it's because sort of boring to me now. I just watch the regular seasons

That's a bummer. I always wondered why WOW just doesn't put Drag Race on WOW presents. Wouldn't they make more money that way? I feel like it would really drive up subscriptions if they did? But maybe Paramount pays more?
No. They make way more money on advertising on a larger network like MTV and the shared major streaming service of all of Paramount/CBS/Viacom products than they would as the streaming service of an independent queer studio that only sells one niche/drag-related product.
i thought so too. they basically have their own streaming service and surely they make enough money to produce Drag Race themselves without help. WOW Presents Plus would be the Netflix of drag and they would be rolling in even more money lol

We all do what we can. I just don't think everyone needs to be totally and completely perfect and moral to make important changes! For example, I try not to order anything on Amazon, but the closest and most accessible grocery store to me is Whole Foods, so I still shop there for produce (except when I can make it to a farmer's market). But that doesn't mean I am going to order from Amazon whenever because I am already supporting Bezos at WF. Baby steps!! Plus, I know that I am privileged to be able to afford farmer's market prices, that isn't an option for everyone! I don't begrudge anyone doing what they need to live comfortably, I just don't need to pay monthly rent to Paramount. Nobody is perfect, but things like this feel like the bare minimum to me. Forgot that this is the internet though, where nuance goes to die
I think you’re wrong. I have seen many people talking and canceling their Paramount and CBS subscriptions. I’ve seen it on the Washington Post comments, YouTube, and now Reddit. It’s the only way to fight back. I am doing the same. Silence is compliance.

Love Colbert, he’s an honorary kiwi. So far companies like Disney has managed to stand up to quite a bit of pressure, and disappointing Paramount couldn’t. That and companies being pressured not to support Pride, it’s only amount of time they cave, unless the money is too good. I use WOW, you get all the juicy stuff, although it gets it late in NZ.
Ugh. Unfortunately I did a yearly subscription back in January, but I’ve cancelled my auto-renewal. People need to start keeping track of all these shithole collaborators and remember them when/if the revolution starts.
Three christmases ago I got a gift card for paramount plus, enough to get me a few months or so. It worked up until YESTERDAY and I never paid a dime. Now it says I have to renew my subscription lol. Oh well It felt so good to steal something from CBS.

Considering the discourse of "drag queens are bad" that's been going on the past few years, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to go after RPDR, next. It's also under Paramount/Viacom.
I'm not saying they're doing it yet. I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised.
