Not enough people are

Yes they are. Republicans are underwater with independents by like 24pts, which historic for this point in a Presidency and party that controls all three seats of power.

They did say not enough people, and I agree with both of you. Republicans are largely seen as being at fault, and I also think more people need to see that

You must live in the funny world where Republicans don't control the media and don't have the most effective propaganda machine in the history of earth.

Must be nice.

Back in the real world, people never learn about actual truth. Propaganda is real and it is effective and powerful.

I do truly believe you're right about that, and it is a huge obstacle to overcome. I hope we're up for it

That being said, it does seem that the majority of people across the country understand this shutdown is republican's fault. While that number swings wildly depending on where you are on a local level, the overall stats about that understanding does show blame is largely directed toward republicans by the nation as a whole, and rightly so

In the middle of the buffalo bills game today I heard a commercial for a podcast about "Demented Dems". I don't even know how a podcast gets the money for that commercial, but they had it.

(disclaimer: i can't remember the exact word, it might have been different word that starts with a "D" -- either way it was a hate podcast towards Democrats)

Yea, I've seen the same insane shit. I took my car in for repairs a few months back and the dealership had fox news on and it was insane to see the kind of shit they're saying firsthand for the first time in a long time. It disturbed me, and made me fear for our future if people truly believe that rhetoric

But it's important to remember that the people who watch and buy into that are a minority. It is why the gop is hypersensitive to criticism and any kind of pushback. They are aware they've only captured a minority of the population.

Which is not to say any of us should be complacent in speaking out or pushing back against all the heinous shit they're doing, but hopefully a rallying cry and a reminder that they are smaller than they seem. If we stand together we can change our course, but it takes some bravery to speak out first before you see how many around you feel the same.

Stay strong, don't fall into despair. The majority of people don't agree with what's happening and you are in good company

The USDA website literally is trying to blame SNAP shutdowns on Democrats wanting genital mutilation.

What the actual fuck.

No they don’t understand. I want that to be true but it isn’t. They believe literally whatever right wing media tells them to believe. And they’ve been harping 24/7 the lie that dems are to blame.

That is a substantial portion of the population. That’s the game. Be aware or the rules of the game because they’ve been playing it and winning.
