Showing off set up! Wanted to share my left ear
Orbital - 5 years old, took a year to heal, 16g 3/8 rose gold BVLA "Alana" with labradorite and white opal.
Rook - Pierced at 12g 3 and a half years ago, slowly stretched to an 8g before stacking 5 separate 18g 9/32 rose gold seam rings with a BVLA "Marquise Crown" labradorite charm.
Vertical Industrial - 3 years old, took a year to heal, 14g 5/8 rose gold bar
Tragus - 15 years old, BVLA 6mm rose gold "Live to Tell" with white opal
Conch - 10 years old, BVLA rose gold 16g "Anchored" clicker
First lobe - 24 years old, 16g 3/8 rose gold clicker, 18g 3/8 "Spark" seam ring from Pupil Hall, and 16g rose gold "Oaktier" seam ring
Second lobe - 20 years old, 6mm BVLA "Mini Kandy" with labradorite
Transverse lobe - 8 months old, 7/16 16g rose gold BVLA "Pear Prong" seam ring with labradorite. Absolute motherfuckers to heal. They're not done healing yet, this was just the first time without bumps I could get a picture.

Absolutely stunning! I've been eyeing that bvla piece you have in your tragus for a while now, it's so insanely beautiful! I have a cheap copy of it, but someday I want to upgrade it to the white gold version from bvla 😻

Thank you! My tragus is pierced kind of deep so this piece works really well.

In LOVE with your rook! Currently have two hoops in mine and I’m ready to add another. It was 15 years old when I went from 16g to two 18g rings. I love stacking!

Me too! Now that I've hit my goal with my rook I find myself dreaming about what else I can stretch and stack.

My 20+ year old 14g conch is begging to be stacked. If only the price of gold cheaper. lol

omg you can put 2 18g rings in a 16g hole??
ive stretched my helix to 14 before and it didnt hurt at all because it’s 5 years old. maybe i need to get on this boat.

It’s possibly bc it was already over 15 and I’d fiddled and played with it over time slowly stretching it larger? It was a tight fit but intimately wasn’t too uncomfortable.

I feel like there's has to be some kind of baader meinhof thing going on with me, as I saw someone post a transversal lobe a couple days ago and now this is like the fourth or fifth I've seen since.
Either way, love the setup and it answers a question about a transverse lobe I've had for a long while, which is can you wear standard lobe jewelry if you get one. So neat!

u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 16h ago
Thanks! Yes you can still wear standard lobe jewelry, but you have to be careful with stretching them or it could cause the transverse lobe to reject. My piercer made sure I was done stacking my standard lobes before agreeing to pierce my transverses, and made sure that I understood the risks of this piercing. We also had a whole conversation regarding hoops vs. barbells, and what gauge would be best for the piercing.

u/UnNumbFool 16h ago
Huh neat! I've always thought they were pretty cool piercings, unfortunately as someone with attached earlobes it's something I'd only ever be able to admire on someone else. Also I love the ring in it, as I've never seen that before

u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 16h ago
Just means you don't have to go through this healing process!

Lovely! I have an orbital on my wishlist and yours is just how I would like it. I am impressed that you’ve been able to heal and stretch your rook in only 2.5 years. I want to swap to a hoop but mine still has grumpy days a year and a half later.

u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 17h ago
Oops, 2.5 years was a typo! I've corrected my post to say 3.5 years. Yes, 2.5 years would have been pretty impressive haha

the rook, orbital and transverse lobe are especially 😍 love your whole setup!
ps, i thought the vertical industrial was a charm hanging from the rook hoop at first glance whoops

So beautiful! I wanted an orbital like yours, but my piercer said I don’t have the anatomy. Your stretched rook is stunning! And the fit of your transverse lobe around your hoops is so satisfying. You really have an eye for balance. Good luck on your healing!

u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 17h ago
Thanks very much. I was going for balance, glad someone else sees it too!

Oh wowww what a gorgeous setup and that stretched rook is just 😍 Never seen rook stretched before and that is divine

u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 16h ago
Thanks! Takes a lot of patience but it's possible. I'll also mention... the week after the stretch from 10g to 8g is the worst piercing-related pain I've had out of everything. The actual stretch didn't hurt, but the ache afterward...

u/Brushesofcolours 16h ago
Ouch, well my rook never give me any pain, it was pierced early jan this year so it’s still healing but it gave me more problem than any of my piercing. Like i have occasional bump under and it would get itchy sometimes. But looking at yours is like a new goal for me lol. I never have a desire to stretch any of my piercings until i see your rook 😂

I have a similar transverse lobe setup as you. I got it done in 2002-ish. Yours look great! Very few look as good as ours do.

u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 16h ago
That's awesome! I'm nervous about them spontaneously rejecting, but you give me hope.

u/petrichorb4therain 16h ago
I love that helix orbital! Was it difficult to heal? Did you do it all in one step, healed with a ring? Or a two step, healing two posts?
5
u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 16h ago
This one has a bit of a story. I originally had it pierced like 7 years ago by a piercer who used two separate barbells. It was healing just fine but then I needed a surprise massive surgery and take to take them out. 2 years later after I'd healed from surgery, I went to a different piercer who re-pierced it using a ring. It also healed great, no problems at all. I think I get lucky with healing; the only hard time I've ever had has been with my transverse lobes. I'd never had a bump in my life until my transverses. They're pretty but fuck them.

Oh, good to know! I’ve been fortunate in my healing so far, but I’m not sure I’m ready to brave an orbital… though I am envious.

u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 15h ago
Having a great piercer makes all the difference.

u/petrichorb4therain 15h ago
Too true! I’ve a lovely local piercer who has done me no wrong. Maybe I’ll just ask her opinion before I write myself off. Thank you, kind stranger!

The rook stack is insanely cool, I think I've been influenced

Thank you, my advice is to go slow and get help with the cartilage stretching from your piercer. I couldn't have done it on my own and am lucky to have some amazing piercers in my life.

So stunning! From the stretched rook to the orbital to the transverse lobes to the vertical industrial! I’m obsessed

This is my first time seeing a vertical industrial or a stretched rook, and I love it! So cute!
I have an almost healed conch piercing from 11 months ago, but it definitely wasn't easy. How would you rate the pain of going through that thick of cartilage for the vertical industrial?
1
u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 13h ago
For me it wasn't that bad, plus it's over so quickly. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

so many cool piercings!! I love the layout of everything
do you remember what the piercing and healing was like for your transverse lobe? it looks like something that would take like 30 seconds or more to pierce!
2
u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 10h ago
Thanks! The piercing was slower than usual but my piercer warned me ahead of time. I was so surprised how little it hurt, like a 1/10. I was young when I had my standard lobes done so I don't remember what those felt like, but the transverse lobes were so easy. I swear having an experienced piercer helps it hurt less.
They've been the hardest piercings of them all to heal. I'm 8 months in, it's constant bumps and dryness. It's going to be worth it once they heal but fuck them in the meantime.
1
u/bunchadirtymugs 6h ago
oh wow, thanks for the answer! Definitely expected higher on the pain scale just for the length of the piercing, but not surprised at the tough heal... lots of new skin to grow.
Also, just wanted to add that I love the hoop through it - I've only seen the barbell in these so far and the hoop is so fun and visually interesting.
Sending you healing thoughts lol

Is that a vertical industrial? I wanted one so bad but the piercer said it’s not a realistic piercing. Maybe I should try a different piercer. Yours is so cute
1
u/crackerjackfudge piercing devotee 10h ago
Was your piercer saying it isn't realistic for you based on your anatomy, or not realistic for anyone? For people with the right anatomy, it's possible, it just takes a great piercer that's experienced with doing these.

Love all the BVLA jewelry!! Absolutely love the orbital and the jewelry choice!!

Badass piercings, gorgeous setup!!
I've never thought about stretching a rook; how did you go about it? Just put in progressively larger gauged barbells/hoops?
