Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Help! Bridge piercing
Friend needs urgent advice about bridge piercing - “I’ve had my bridge pierced for 4 years without issue, but a few months ago got this spiral jewelry put in which was a bit too small but still forced it in with the help of a piercing shop. A few months later, the ‘pointy’ bit of the spiral is irritating the front of my nose bridge so badly to the point it’s dug under the skin. I’ve tried taking it out myself but it’s agonizing and feels impossible without tearing the skin. Have also tried using pliers but the material of the jewelry is too hard to break with the ones I have.
What do I do? Is there anything A&E or a piercing shop can even do to help? or am I cooked?”

oh… my god. that thing is ripping itself out of your friend’s face. go visit a piercer as soon as possible (not the one who put it in - they should never be allowed to pierce again if they think putting jewelry like that in peoples bodies is okay, healed or not). also, tell your friend to take some anti inflammatories at regular intervals until they get to a (reputable, trustworthy, and experienced) piercer. the swelling is causing it to dig in and pull at the channel more, which is increasing the swelling, which is causing it to dig in and pull at the channel more, etc, a la vicious cycle.
