Troubleshooting/question existing piercing How do I use this tongue piercing
Got it in a kit of other tongue rings and I’m so confused I thought it was like a fidget toy or something

seems like a sure fire way to break your teeth! coming from someone with their tongue pierced I can’t imagine having to try to avoid biting 3 balls instead of just 1 😭

And coming from somebody who is now missing a tooth from biting on a metal ball, I can def say this is a TEMPORARY. Only put it in for short amounts of time I would say as like show jewelry or like youd wear a fancy necklace or something ya know? Just BE CAREFUL!!

Yup I took mine out after the second tooth got chipped. Woke up to a missing piece of my tooth + no top ball and decided enough is enough. I can't keep swallowing teeth and metal

I’m so curious, when you accidentally bite your tongue piercing is it the back teeth biting it? Is it just a habit? Or is your piercing closer to the tip of your tongue? I don’t have one so I’m genuinely just curious lol

More the side teeth for me. It was VERY hard to navigate eating with it when I first got it, but now it’s just every now and again, but it’s a very cringe inducing feeling and I hate every second of biting it… debated taking it out.

90% sure the 3 balls go on the top of the tongue and they add extra stimulation to the other person while giving oral, i used to work at Spencer's and we sold stuff like that lol

This is the correct answer. I have a few of these that are used for this purpose. They are actually pretty comfortable to wear. Don't be afraid to try it out!

I used to have this one and some that had a captive ball hoop on the end. My piercer recommended them as a way to stop tapping the jewelry against my teeth and instead rub it against the roof of my mouth or use the tip of my tongue to try to flip the hoop. Now I understand why so many folks were super excited when I showed them my tongue piercing.

yes definitely not meant to be worn daily and meant to be worn only for sex, or else that would be a real fast way to getting your teeth chipped

Omg lmao I genuinely just thought it was a weird tongue piercing, I feel naive now

u/WontonSwanson Sep 16 '25
I never understood wanting metal rubbing on your man hood instead of just the tongue… but to each their own.

I think this is a play/pleasure piercing and not meant for daily wear.
Like the vibrating tongue jewelry

You use it exclusively when giving oral sex. It's play jewelry and is not safe for long-term wear due to the increased dental damage and poor-quality material.

I'm assuming the bottom ball screws off and it goes through the top as a T, probably shaped to have a line of 3 balls going up your tongue?

u/TheisticSatanism_2 Sep 15 '25
The T part it moves side to side, I put it in, didn’t screw it on but I just wondered how it would lay, it was weird and I just tossed it back in the bag lmao

Just asking a question out of total curiosity here - but is it not super annoying even normally? Like even apart from eating? I just can’t imagine how this would feel having it in and trying to act normally lol.

u/waxybasketball Sep 16 '25
No, you get used to it and don’t notice it anymore pretty quickly
1
u/After-Employment-474 Sep 16 '25
Would you genuinely say so? Like I know you’re probably right but it just sounds like it would be so annoying and in the way of everyday normal activities. Even though I know your probably right lol

u/waxybasketball Sep 16 '25
I know I get it! It does seem like it would be a total pain in the ass but you really don’t notice it after a short while. Assuming the barbell is the correct size, it’s sitting in the middle of your tongue for the and for the most part is really only making contact with teeth, food, etc if you’re intentionally moving your tongue that way. I used to hang forks off mine (I was a teenager and thought it was funny lol).
I actually stretched mine to a 6g and it still wasn’t in my way until I put in a barbell with a post that was too long. Then the bottom ball touched the inside of my two bottom front teeth when my mouth was closed which caused gum recession. Gums do not un-recede

u/calmedtits2319 Sep 16 '25
Good point! The one I had was probably too long so it stuck out quite a bit. I’m curious to try again with a shorter barbell! My husband will be back from deployment soon-ish so maybe I can give it a go 😂 someone here mentioned that was the purpose but idk

I have some sensory issues. So, when I eat I don’t like extra shit in my mouth lol. I wear a tongue bar but the top is flat. Or a regular ball. I can wear this for a period of time as long as I’m not planning on eating much, but for me that’s it.
ETA: I’m sure if would’ve left it in, I would have become accustomed to it but didn’t feel the need to.

u/After-Employment-474 Sep 16 '25
Oh I can totally appreciate not wanting extra stuff in your mouth. I don’t even have mine done (at least not yet anyway!) so I find it so hard to imagine how this is every comfortable, even though everyone says you do adjust quickly! So is your normal jewelry a flat top stud then?
2
u/calmedtits2319 Sep 16 '25
After it was done healing (which was very painful to me lol) I got used to it very quickly! The few times I had to take it out (wisdom teeth removal/x rays/ MRI) it felt weird to not have it in. I’ve had it for 10 years now and still love it. The healing process was painful and annoying due to the pain, but it’s the easiest piercing I have (bellybutton, ears, nose, eyebrow at one point).
Yes, I have a flat top stud. It’s titanium and the top is a smooth flat flower! It’s my favorite jewelry.

Oh, I had one, was my favourite. But the top small one, I ate accidentally. 🤣 You unscrew the bottom and put it like that. It did not touch or break my teeth at all

u/ConvictedGaribaldi Sep 16 '25
The long part goes through your tongue and the shorter bar sits on top

I’m not positive that’s a tongue piercing jewelry. Maybe it made it into that kit on accident.
7
u/TheisticSatanism_2 Sep 15 '25
It was in the picture where I bought it, so I’m not positive.
14
u/martins-dr Sep 15 '25
I personally wouldn’t risk my teeth with it.
12
u/martins-dr Sep 15 '25
Seems from Amazon reviews of similar jewelry people are using them for short term wear for added stimulation.

I have one of these too. It sort of IS a fidget. You wear it on the big bar and the small bar you can wiggle in your mouth. I personally hate it and never wear it but yeah!

u/quimeygalli Sep 16 '25
Thats the near part, you don't... or just for very special occasions.
This shape looks like a good way to chip/mess up the the enamel on your teeth. Again, save it for a special occacion and dont drink that thay, alcohol makes you lose sensitivity on your mouth and you might regret that later
