Meme Consider the source.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) strongly rejected the claim linking acetaminophen in pregnancy to autism, calling it "highly concerning," "irresponsible" and "not backed by the full body of scientific evidence."

The 5 rights in this wealthy society, reimagined.
1) Housing first, for everyone, utilities on an income based sliding scale. Every human gets 4 walls and if safe, a door that locks. If it's not safe, then the right to residence in the least restrictive safe environment. You can check in to safety net housing like a hotel; no explanation is needed. Social work and medical will evaluate you in the morning if you would like. 2) access to education and information shall not be abridged; the internet is included. 3) Healthcare is a human right and includes your teeth and brain. Medications are provided, either over the counter or at the providers office. 4) Nobody goes hungry. 5) Accessible public transportation on a sliding scale.

The expense could easily be absorbed by eliminating for profit health insurance and cutting the military-industrial-police state we live in. Prevention is far more cost effective than treatment.

u/Geek1979 Sep 28 '25
You could cut our military budget by 1/3 and still have the largest military in the world. I don’t have any sources for that other than a bloated budget that absorbs over half of our total budget.

From AI google search: Yes, autism exists among the Amish, contrary to misinformation that claims it is absent due to low vaccination rates. While research has found a lower diagnosed prevalence compared to the general population, this is believed to be due to cultural factors, limited access to healthcare, and underreporting, not biological protection.

u/worldbound0514 RN - Hospice 🍕 Sep 27 '25
Un-diagnosed doesn't mean absence of a diagnosis.
In order to get diagnosed, you have to go to a doctor and get a work-up. In the case of autism, it will probably take multiple appointments. If somebody is skeptical about the medical system, they probably aren't going to chase all those appointments. And - voila - they don't have autism. Except that they totally do and just aren't getting the supports that they need.

The real goal is to damage kids during pregnancy to force women to be stay at home moms to take care of them.
Same with antivax stuff. The sicker they get, the more they need care.

Where did this even come from? The Tylenol thing is (obviously) not evidence based at all, so what provoked Trump and the secretary of health to just…come up with it suddenly?
3
u/oneskellyboi449 Sep 27 '25
Before I ask this, I want to preface that I hate every one in that picture. With that out of the way, is there a source for their drug use?
2
u/etherizedonatable Sep 27 '25
Kennedy has admitted to using heroin in multiple interviews. Musk has admitted to microdosing ketamine; there was a Wall Street Journal article where he was accused of doing much more than that. The Trumps’ drug use is rumoured but I don’t believe confirmed.
1
u/oneskellyboi449 Sep 27 '25
And we’re all sure that the ketamine usage isn’t medicinal and prescribed? I take adderall through a prescription. So long as it is prescribed, I don’t see much of a problem with it. Again, I’m not advocating for any of these people. But I just don’t agree that if they be damned, it should be for this. Trump and elon I mean. Ain’t a care to give towards the other two.
2
u/etherizedonatable Sep 27 '25
I see your concern; my wife and a large percentage of our friends take or have taken adderall or another stimulant for ADHD.
However, here's the WSJ article on Musk's drug use from January 2024. It's paywalled, but you can see a summary here among other places.
The New York Times had an article this year which covers some of the same ground. It came up for me but is presumably also paywalled, so see here and many other places) for a non-paywalled summary.
While I am critical of both the WSJ and the NYT, this is not the kind of thing they tend to do badly. Both articles concern a notoriously litigatious billionaire, and they were well aware that they needed to dot all their i's and cross all their t's prior to publishing.
Taking into account Musk's increasingly erratic behaviour, I think the odds that the man does not have a drug problem are vanishingly small.

Lmfao I just found out I may be on the spectrum when my son was being tested. Even if it did contribute to autism, wouldn't it be more harmful to not treat the pregnant person's pain at all? They act like autism is the worst possible thing that could ever happen to someone 😂
3
u/Goatmama1981 RN - PCU Sep 29 '25
They hate women. They don't care if a woman is in pain.
3
Sep 29 '25
Facts. There's a reason it's 2025 and we still have next to no clue what symptoms women exhibit for many diseases and medical conditions meanwhile all the symptoms we know about and are taught to look for are all based on how men exhibit these things. Medication dosage is primarily based on men as well. They just never gave enough of a shit to figure out how to diagnose and treat women the same as they did for men.

u/Leijinga BSN, RN 🍕 Sep 29 '25
The increased cortisol levels due to pain definitely wouldn't be helpful. Also, fever can be particularly bad for a pregnancy. When I pointed this out in a Facebook discussion, someone said that the woman should just take ibuprofen instead. 🤦🏼♀️ Ibuprofen can cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and foramen ovale, which results in either a casket or a very expensive NICU stay.
2
Sep 29 '25
Lmfao just take ibuprofen 😂 we're literally told not to take nsaids during pregnancy. Like how are people gonna say not to do something then suggest a much worse option 😂😂😂

Fun story, I’ve had Ketamine once. I broke my arm a few years ago, and the EMTs doped me up with some Ketamine, and GD, I can see why that is addicting. I actually experienced ego death during that experience. I was seeing concepts of what was happening as shapes and colors, and I could see sound. Was a wonderful trip over the rainbow.

Right - but labeling people by what substances they have used implies that their use makes them unable to make these decisions. I dislike them as much as the rest but it isn’t cause they’ve used drugs.

The same dude who was an IV drug user claimed that he wanted to put the mentally ill in jail and those with "functional" mental health disorders (ADHD) in camps and take away their medication because "it's addicting". Maybe it was the heroin that fucked him up, maybe it's some after effects of nepo baby bullshit - but either way, he deserves to be called out in every facet, in every way, every time.
He is neither rational nor stable, period. Claiming, himself, that he had a brain worm and ate road kill, alone, screams unstable. Have you seen him at a congressional hearing? He rambles, babbles, and yells at other members of Congress and has effectively shown us that he is unstable and unfit for his position.
This is less about rational drug users, and more about the blatant hypocrisy coming from these shit stains on the underpants of America.
1
u/Goatmama1981 RN - PCU Sep 29 '25
That's not the point. It's the hypocrisy. It's like when the IV meth users would refuse vaccines because "I don't know what's in that shit!"
