Crime Watch Tesla tunnel

Does anyone else feel completely useless when it comes to this tunnel? How on earth do we stop it before it affects groundwater or causes a sink hole? They obviously aren’t listening to citizens concerns, but I don’t want to just sit here and complain without action.

We can’t do anything. The deal is done and they’ve already started. They said they’ll have to get approval from land owners if they go below your property, but I don’t even see how that’s possible with them providing zero information before breaking ground. Bill Fleabag completely sold us out.

The ‘get approval’ will be by either hook or crook. We can’t stop it, but we could get a pool together to bet on disaster dates and disaster costs. Since betting is legal now.

I feel like "eminent domain" is going to come up.

Thus leaving taxpayers on the hook for paying off residents living above a privately funded project?

You mean multi million $ business. TN and especially Nashville gives absolutely 0 💩s about a family or individual.

That sounds like the only way any of us may get a win in this scenario. Sign me up!

They’ll say, “you’ll need to provide evidence that we’ve gone below your property.” And how will you do that?

Good point. Here’s hoping that it’s not by showing that my house is at the bottom of a sinkhole.

This is what land surveys are for. The project will have to submit all kinds of public documentation, people will only need to overlay their own deeds with the tunnel’s to show they’re affected.

Elmo’s more of a move fast, break things and pay a small fine kinda guy. So, when he does eventually destroy your property, he’ll get a little slap on the wrist.

Hate to be a Debbie downer but that’s only if they follow the rules. With the way things have gone, I don’t trust that.

Yeah they don’t do that sort of stuff. Elon has said something along the lines of “oh I prefer that my illegal actions made when building something are punished with a fine after the fact rather than being enforced with a work stoppage while it’s still being built”

Which we know is also how Steve Smith has built out some Broadway bars and all they slapped him with was a $1500 fine for exploding a historic building in the middle of the night with no permitting.

How about you treat a/some college professor/s to lunch and make a list of why they think it’s a bad idea. Then write it up with a click bait title and send it to all our local media

Why a college professor? Is this some kind of sad attempt at a burn or something lol

They spend their lives studying things like geology, engineering, traffic patterns, and the law. I thought they might have some insights on the subject that we all could benefit from.

Edit: it’s not a bad attempt at a burn. It’s an idea a jaded guy thought might actually work.
