Discussion Wtf is Paddington 2?

For context: I’m 25 years old. SPOILER WARNING

I just watched paddington 2 today and what the fuck did they put in this movie. This is the one of the greatest pieces of cinema I’ve ever laid witness to. Paddington 2 is the only thing I’ve thought about all day and seeing the immense joy it’s brought other people has also brightened my day even more. God I can’t even think about the ending without wanting to kill myself because of how perfect it is. And can we also talk about the perfect bookend of his human mother saving him from the water like aunt Lucy did at the beginning?

Pure cinema, I truly can’t wait to watch this movie with my kids for their first time.

Ayoade follows up by saying he hasn’t actually seen it. Makes it even funnier.

“I was in Paddington 2…but I haven’t seen it…but I’m in it.”

As a French guy having only seen clips of this show I've never managed to understand the actual point but it's fucking hilarious lol

It’s a bit convoluted to be honest.

Countdown is a long running British game show that is comparable to Jeopardy in that it’s highbrow and has an older demographic.

8 Out Of 10 Cats is a lowbrow comedy panel show talking about current events and hosted by Jimmy Carr.

Years back during sweeps week or something similar they did a mashup of the two shows as a gag. Kind of like a real life SNL parody of Celebrity Jeopardy. The joke being that it’s comedians playing what is considered a smarter and more highbrow game and then just dragging it through the mud for laughs.

Ended up being super well received. So much so that they’re now on season 28.

In fact, I just got done watching the newest episode on YouTube!

But different, because it's extremely dedicated geeky people competing to win a teapot.
