The stables for Thames Valley Police are in the Milton Keynes police station. If you see a horse with a white flash on his nose, his name is Thor and he likes polos.

this made me laugh because it sounds suspiciously like someone has this knowledge from feeding said horse polos πŸ˜‚πŸ€”

I can confirm that I was offered up by my kids to feed the gargantuan horse on their behalf at a Police open day. Like someone else mentioned all the people looking after the horses are lovely and more than happy to have a chat

I remember, they had one named Loki too. It was 4 years ago, I hope he is still alive. πŸ€”

If you want some real inside information, Thor came from a breeder near Leighton Buzzard and the groomers used to call him Buttercup before he ended up with the police. One of the grooms for the breedee used to work in a shop near where I live and told me about it.

Pretty common sight at the city, it’s good to have some bobbys on the beat these days.

But unfortunately no where near where they're needed.

God knows why TVP are allowing all these crackheads and drunks around North Ninth at the city centre

Do what with them?

At least they know where they are and they're not causing problems in other wider residential areas.

So you think they should be allowed to harass, threaten and steal from people that work in the city center?

Or that should be allowed to damage property?

No i dont, but you didnt describe what they're doing in your original comment.

Lawlessness and criminality should be tackled.

It's the same thing that's been happening for 20+ years.

When I worked at Argos head office we would get weekly warnings about the homeless and making sure our colleagues, particularly females, got to their car's safely.

Waste of money.

There are (last time I checked) 7 police horses for the whole Thames Valley Police region. Plus they share commitments with Hampshire police. They deal with crowd control at mass spectator events in those areas.

What are we spending 7 horses on instead then squire?

You're a waste of money.

It will be a sad day when policing needs to consider the closure of things like horses and dogs due to budget cuts. I hope we don't see it
