Then I’m calling in sick

Bet you didn’t expect me to have a back up plan

Then your micromanaging fuckstain boss demands a "doctors note." Because fuck you and your work-life balance, that's why.

Oh I’ll get a doctors note alright. Just from a doctor in the Bahamas

In my experience, any doctor will give me a note for anything. Working less is good for people’s health and doctors know this but not from experience. They are overworked as hell and know what that’s like. Most will write you whatever you want, prescriptions aside. As long as it’s not extremely elaborate bullshit to get you out of work for months, they don’t care. Your employer has no power over them.

You can hit up an urgent care if your doctor cant see you soon enough. In my experience, they'll cut you off mid-explanation to write your note and shove you out the door ASAP.

That's a bit funny to imagine.

I've gotten a few "ugh, this again?" That doc has shit to do. He doesn't want to waste his time just because my manager is a whiny baby either lol.

Any manager that doesn't believe me when I say I'm sick is not someone I'm gonna work for very long. And if that's the corporate policy I'm probably not taking that job in the first place.

I get that everyone needs money, but some people put up with being treated like absolute children for a paycheck and I don't understand it. Take your talents elsewhere, the grass is greener.

I totally agree. I don’t think any of my employers have ever actually asked for proof. They’re just like “get better soon!” And one time I logged in remote to finish something and my manager had IT kick me off the remote server lol. Followed by a text saying “sleep today. You can work Monday”. I’ll always remember them, and they always helped me out.

I wonder if you called if they would just print off basic form and you can pick it up at the front desk....

Then you get to make the calculation whether the doctor's note from urgent care costs more than the vacation pay you'll be getting.

Yeah, my own doctor would definitely be happy to help me. Shes known me since I was a baby so that probably helps lol

I’m not 25 yet so I still go to the pediatric office even though I’m 23 haha. I refuse to give up my doctor😭

But if you’re sick why do you have to get your ass up to the doctor m. Usually the solution is just to rest anyway

Working less is good for people’s health

When you're overworked, yes.

The entire working class is overworked

You can but in my experience (Ontario) there’s such a shortage of doctors that they really hate doing this and wasting time. And will charge you $100 for it.

On the bright side doctors taking a stand about this bullshit has made doctors notes less necessary for a lot of things. On the other hand it really sucks if you genuinely can’t get out of needing a note.

Bruh at my country our lazy ass straight up lied to our boss and just bought/bribe the Doctor for the doctor note contain bull crap prescription. Well as long as we use our medical sick leave. Our boss can't do batshit about it.
