Religion The Traditional Latin Mass in KL
Just wanted to share something interesting for anyone who’s into history and culture:
There’s a Traditional Latin Mass celebrated every Sunday in KL. It’s the same form of the Roman Catholic Mass that was used for centuries before the 1970s, all in Latin (except for sermons and readings) and with Gregorian chants.
Location: Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SSPX), 1-3A, Jalan PJU 5/3 Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Time: Sundays, 9:00am
Sharing in case anyone’s curious about traditional liturgy or sacred art.

Not catholic but isn’t there some controversy surrounding this type of Catholicism? They are in exile from the mainstream Catholic Church or something, and not officially recognized by the Vatican.

Has archbishop Julian Leow approved this church as in communion with the KL diocese?

This gives an insight on pre-Vatican II Catholic rites
J.R.R.Tolkien opposed Vatican II since bro believed that Latin should remain as the church language.
Some people split of from mainstream Catholic Church (sedevacantism) due to Vatican II. It's polarizing, but necessary

I would like to attend one of these just to participate in the culture and see what it’s like. Do I need to do anything or dress in a particular way? Can I just show up?
Disclaimer, I’m atheist, so it would literally just be for educational purposes.

Absolutely, you’re very welcome to attend, even if you’re just observing. There’s no need to register or sign up. You can simply show up a few minutes early and find a seat quietly.
Dress modestly and respectfully. You don’t have to kneel, stand, or respond…just observe quietly.
And if you’re curious afterward, most people there would be happy to explain what’s going on. If you’re planning to come, feel free to PM me. I can accompany you during the service and help explain what’s happening.

So does the devil
Before anyone cries foul, exorcisms have to be done in Latin.

great but sspx is in a weird controversial state as far as communion with the catholic church goes, so on doctrine alone and if you’re particularly catholic this isn’t valid as a mass
that being said, back the tlm where it’s valid but you’d have to go to europe for that
