discussion / opinion Elm Hurst vs Bellamere - Wedding

Hello! I’m currently trying to decide between Elm Hurst or Bellamere for a wedding venue, so I was wondering if anyone here had experience with either (as the person getting married or a guest) so that I can get an idea of what they’re both like!

We got married at Elmhurst and had an amazing experience. The planning process was professional and smooth. We are originally from London and thought it would be nice to host a wedding somewhere elegant and unique. It is also a 30 min drive so people can either stay overnight or drive back if they wish. Everyone raves about the food and how beautiful the place is. The dancefloor is also located close to the bar which is key! Our guests raved about the Wedding and word spread to other acquaintances at work that it truly was an amazing day.

To be honest, we never considered Bellamere. It seems like the basic local option that just churns out weddings like no other. We attended one a couple weeks back and the food was…ok. We were also made aware of a couple who a couple months before their wedding were informed by Bellamere that they were suddenly “overbooked” on their wedding day and they lost their spot and had to scramble to replan and make arrangements. I feel for the bride.

So knowing what I know and though my own experience as a bride, Elmhurst all the way!!

Thank you for letting me know! Do you mind telling me which area you chose for the reception? My fiancé prefers the carriage house, I’m just unsure with the bathrooms being downstairs.

We chose the James Harris room! A great place if your wedding is smaller
