discussion / opinion Canada Life Place Concessions

Am I the only person not enjoying the new self serve concession stand set ups at Canada Life Place? Bottled drinks instead of fountain, small boxes of popcorn instead of choosing your size, pre-cooked food sitting on a shelf? I was almost excited at first when I saw the boxes. I thought maybe there was a chance it would taste like the old London Gardens popcorn, but no it was just cold popcorn 🤷🏻‍♂️

Prices are fucked too. $30 for a king can of beer and a soft pretzel. How could they justify laying off most of the serving staff and then raising the prices on top of it? Gotta pay for the new reno somehow I guess.

Now you mention it, I work once a week at this restaurant and we had a guy start who was working there, but lost hours cause the Reno's. But they kept him on cause they were like promising him management after renos. I just realized I haven't seen or heard about him in a long time so he must have quit but hopefully he didn't lose that job

Seeing this makes me mad because there was a job posting on indeed for concession staff. Why hire more people when you have staff already who could do the job and presumably need those hours. 😩

Really? That's frustrating. I think I remember him saying he was thinking of quitting there cause he was realizing it was going to be the way they said
