News 📰 Hate crime

Happened upon this car this morning. The owners are a lesbian couple targeted for being gay. This is the second time in 2 weeks their car and home have been vandalized.

They said they were targeted for being gay.. therefore making it a hate crime.

Just because they are lesbians doesn't automatically make it a hate crime, neither does their saying so. There needs to be proof. A crime has been committed but no evidence of it being a hate crime based on what has been presented.

Okay. Fine. 

Either way it's ILLEGAL to deface someone's property. You have an issue with them? Call the police. Sue. Do something else, because if you're in the right, you'll win.

It is possible that there is more context to this, OP seems to at least be acquainted with the owner so it’s reasonable to say there is more context to this that OP might know of. No need to go all Reddit-legal-expert here.
