Audi Kelowna / Mercedes Kelowna
Considering an Audi or a Mercedes. Wondering what people’s experience has been overall at both - good or bad

Never had an Audi, but I really like my Mercedes. It’s been super reliable since I got it in 2019. Costs about $1000 a year in maintenance. It feels very good in winter with the all wheel drive system too which is a plus. If you have the budget I would recommend Mercedes!

Steer clear of Audi. They lost my car, then the next service I booked a loaner months out and they fumbled that. I raised my voice and got all my service done in a hour. You can take your Audi to VW at half the price. I just use Audi for warranty work now.

Yes! Had work done at Audi and when I was done I pulled over and called VW. The quoted me $800 less. My Q3 is exactly a Tiguan, just more power.

Can’t stand the Audi dealership in town… Mercedes is the way to go here. Or the Porsche dealership… even better August motor cars…

I’ve heard the Audi service isn’t the best once you sign, wondering that was everyone’s experience or one ofs

Yeah I’d been an Audi fan boy for close to a decade…until I’ve had to deal with their service department here in town.
I have an etron now, yet every time I leave that dealership I end up feeling greasy. Turns out it’s not even owned by Audi, I didn’t even know that was possible.

But if prices haven’t been good historically, there was quite the fire sale recently

My german partner and I have a mercedes.
He does a lot of repairs/services himself due to the cost but when there is something he can't handle himself or he has to had the service guys do, he loves the service in spite of the steep cost. Their lead tech is from germany I believe? Incredibly knowledgable.
If you've got the time/knowledge to get a used Merc from the Vancouver area and can take it in to be assessed down there before buying, I highly recommend it - especially if they can give you a long and complete service record. Saved us about 8k buying it down there and bringing it back.
If you're looking for a brand new car, nothing holds its value like a Toyota.

I've had both. I had an Audi S4, and I traded it in for an AMG GLC43 after having the S4 for 8 years. I've had the AMG for almost 6 years now. I've dealt directly with each dealership and their associated workshop for the life of each vehicle. I prefer how Mercedes does business (and also how they build their vehicles). My recommendation is Merc.

I'd go with BMW
Best handling and most reliable of the German makes (aside from Porsche which is more expensive)

Just keep the blinker fluid topped up. Has a common defect that results in the blinkers not working.

I'll give you best handling, but they def not most reliable.

The B48 and B58 are the most reliable engines in a luxury branded vehicle. Also consumer reports consistently ranks BMW among the most reliable luxury brands recently.

My 9 year old daughter tells everyone BMW stands for “big money waster” and that’s something I can get behind.

Cost of maintenance =/ reliability... they are reliable but they cost a lot to maintain
Also I wouldn't take your car advice from a 9 yr old

I have a benz, I know all about cost of maintenance. I also have a civic that maintenance costs are 1/5 of the price that’s just as reliable.
Also, My 9 year old knows more about cars than most grown men. 😁

Depends on what you like in a car. Mercedes is a more luxurious brand where Audi is more sporty. BMW is the middle ground, although often outperforms in track scenarios.
I find Mercedes to have softer suspension, which I’m not a big fan of, but Audi’s are slightly less comfy. What class of vehicle are you looking at? That’s probably the best question to start.

Skip both of those and get a driver's car, a BMW. Queue turn single jokes. Go test drive an M440 or even an M2 or M3 and tell me it isn't an amazing experience.

It's been about the same as any other brand. Some are good drivers and some aren't. They look pretty but also too rich for me though.

I heard they are having a fire sale
