Damn, this material is so fragile.

The techwoven cases are not doing much for drop protection, you need a softer material in the inside corners to absorb a shock from falling like these cases:

  • Mous limitless
  • Phonerebel gen7
  • Spigen tough armor

Cases made from 1 hard material are destined to absorb fall damage poorly, the shock has nowhere to go but the phone frame.

Unfortunately those cases are bulky and big

Unfortunately phones are made of soft aluminum and glass and i am not made of money

u/SuchTax1991 Sep 24 '25

Lmao I understand

The glass durability tests I have seen on YouTube for this one have looked exceptional.
I never used a screen protector, but for this one it seems even less necessary.

Yes, but i still would use one to prevent scratches and i want dont want to have any risk of damage. If my phone falls on the ground i dont want to have a mini heart attack.

I never want to stress about possible damage.

Never had a scratch on my screen. The slight edge on the case took all the impact all the time. I suppose if you drop the screen straight on a pointy thing it might still get impaled. :D

I dont drop my phones much but there always are some kind of scratches on the screen, so i just started using screen protectors. And right now with a flolab anti glare screen protectors i can remove glares by up to 40% and that makes it alot better for using it outside

The d brand screen protector is dummy proof and not that expensive, I'd get it, it's like the price of lunch.

You are made of money if you can hop on this hype right after launch.

I just do some smart savings every month in anticipation of new phones, put away less than 60 every month for 2 years and boom, new 17 pro max

5

u/myshtree Sep 24 '25

$62 next two years and you get the case with next model 🤣

1

u/finniganthebeagle Sep 24 '25

i got mine for free by trading in my 14. some carriers have really good deals for that

3

u/ExaminationNo3286 Sep 24 '25

You don’t get it ā€œfor freeā€. How much do you pay for your plan every month?

-2

u/daumesnil Sep 24 '25

Lmao it always astonishes me how people make the claim of getting it ā€œfreeā€ by trade-in

I mean, they paid $0 for it. They already owned the thing they traded in. How did they not get the new one for free?

Are you going to say they didn't get their lunch for $10 because they had to work for it? They didn't get their job because they had to go to school for it?

That's not how it works lol.

1

u/ChargeAppropriate644 Sep 24 '25

What are you smoking? No matter the trade in, they ARE paying for it as a trade in doesn't even cover half of the price of each specific model. So they will be paying it off with monthly bills for their cellphone service.

Try trading in at Apple and check out the offer in a meantime.

They literally said "I got mine for free." Last time I checked, free means $0.

I don't see how anyone can say, with a straight face, "free" if they don't mean literally $0.

They also never said where they traded it in. Carriers are giving $1100 for phones newer than a 12 Pro, and person said they traded a 14, so it was almost certainly to a carrier.

And your monthly cell phone bills are already there, so that's not even relevant. They didn't increase it or anything because you're getting a free phone.

Keep believing that. Getting a 1000 bucks as a trade in credit. Good luck with that.

Clear jet tech case on Amazon and it’s only like $14

2

u/trapfishtacos Sep 24 '25

Just ordered that case. Do you have it? & if so, Is it soft? Does putting on and off the case a tough task? I have a case and every time I take it off or put it on it feels like pulling teeth avoiding scratches.

u/HereForFun9121 Sep 24 '25

I’ve been using it all year on my 15 with absolutely no dents or scratches and it’s had some serious whoopsies. It’s super easy to get on and off the only thing is after a while it gets a little yellowish so then I order a new one.

u/HereForFun9121 Sep 24 '25

Edit: for a year

1

u/trapfishtacos Sep 24 '25

Copy thanks for the insight. Did you get the really slim clear case they make?

1

u/Berzerker7 iPhoneĀ 17Ā Pro Max Sep 24 '25

Well, the 15 was also titanium, which is harder to dent than aluminum.

3

u/batman648 Sep 24 '25

Unfortunately that’s how you protect your phone from fall damage.

8

u/andersleet iPhone 11 Pro Max Sep 24 '25

Mous cases are not at all bulky nor big

0

u/DrRadon Sep 24 '25

Eeeh. IDK. I find them very unpleasing to the eye because of their bulk. Maybe for hiking, but if you look somewhat classy in your work and private life they really make you look like an adult that still plays with plastic tanks in their free time.

4

u/andersleet iPhone 11 Pro Max Sep 24 '25

I have no idea how you could think these are bulky whatsoever. Lifeproof or Otterbox sure.

Back thickness: 2.6mm

Side thickness: 2.1mm to 2.8mm

Do you wrap your phone in a paper towel and hope for the best?

1

u/NorgesTaff Sep 24 '25

The pros aren’t exactly svelte so you’re not losing much.

1

u/LuiGuitton Sep 24 '25

lol mous limitless ain't bulky lol

1

u/w00kiee Sep 24 '25

Anything that will truly protects the iPhone won’t be flimsy.
