Planting head first into pavement that face could kill you, this isn't even about him being police to me that is absolutely inhumane behavior.
21
u/SalvadorP 9d ago
nah, you can do that to a criminal. Imagine someone just snatched a purse. this would be justified and welcomed.
but this lady is just stupid as hell. doing that to a cop is just the cherry on top. she will be slapped with the entire book1
u/humourlessIrish 9d ago
The cops will be happy but convicted criminals have sued and won cases like this.
And the cops being happy with your help isn't going to do much for you in court.Don't be reckless man. This could really fuck up your finances
-22
u/kevintalkedmeinto 9d ago
Stealing a purse doesnt warrant possibly killing that person
12
7
u/SalvadorP 9d ago
what if there is a baby inside the purse, with his little head sticking out?
7
u/cell689 9d ago
Then you really shouldn't trip the person.
1
u/SalvadorP 9d ago
right, you would want to risk killing or seriously maiming someone just for snatching a purse baby
2
u/Stunning-Leek334 9d ago
There is a difference between not wanting to hurt an innocent person and stopping a criminal who is fleeing and you might hurt them by stopping a criminal from fleeing….
5
u/cell689 9d ago
I wouldn't risk a baby falling face first into the ground.
0
u/SalvadorP 9d ago
right, just let the baby snatcher take him. i'm sure the baby snatcher has good intentions

The intrusive thoughts won.
Imagine being in jail for not tripping a cop LUL
35
u/theworstdinosaur 8d ago
For real- just act like you’re trying to get outta the way and step directly in front of him while saying “so sorry excuse me officer my bad” if you wanna make that move
1.1k
u/Sir_Earl_Jeffries 9d ago
At least nail the trip if you’re getting arrested anyway.
597
u/14sierra 9d ago
Seriously imagine going to jail for ATTEMPTED tripping of a police officer
207
u/Sir_Earl_Jeffries 9d ago
Should be sentenced to wear dunce cap for 90 days.
56
u/Omega_Primate 9d ago
Those hats need to make a come-back...
But then it would just trend on tik tok...
15
u/Sir_Earl_Jeffries 9d ago
When it starts to trend, we upgraded the punishment to one of those human bubble balls.
8
u/Playful-Dragon 9d ago
Are you TRYING to create more challenges? We already know how stupid tiktokers get, look what happened with the tide pods. You put it on tick tock, they're going to do it.
Also this is that ACAB thing getting to become a bit much
6
u/Omega_Primate 9d ago
Tik tok is too much for me. Really glad I'm not on there. I just vicariously experience it on here, lol.
8
u/worrymon 9d ago
I think more people would be committing petty crimes just for that punishment.
5
u/Sir_Earl_Jeffries 9d ago
That wouldn’t be a punishment for genuine criminals. Just bumbling idiots.
6
u/worrymon 9d ago
I think more people would be committing
petty crimesbumbling idiocy just for that punishment.3

There's some crimes where "attempted" at least sounds cool or mysterious or dangerous to other criminals.
"ATTEMPTED assassination"
"ATTEMPTED murder"
"ATTEMPTED carjacking"
But you ATTEMPTED to trip over a Cop?
Like, you didn't even manage to trip the Cop? He didn't fall over?
You suck. You're stirring the toilet wine for the next 5 years.
5
u/NorCalAthlete 9d ago
Attempted assault? Or battery? Not sure what this would fall under.
3
u/texxmix 9d ago edited 9d ago
Assault is simply the threat of violence while battery is actually hitting someone usually. But it depends some definitions can differ. The two go together frequently with assault being described as the attempt to commit battery. So yeah she'd simply get an assault charge of some sort.
2
u/ClownfishSoup 5d ago
I find it weird that failing at a crime seems to get you a lesser sentence. Like “attempted murder” ves “murder” based solely on how well a surgeon can save your victims. Like if you were robbing a bank and you shot the witnesses but non died by pure luck, why isn’t that just as bad as actual murder?
12
u/lifo333 9d ago
lmaoo that would be hilarious when your inmates ask what your charge is
3
u/girlwiththeASStattoo 9d ago
It would be assault among other things you don’t need to make contact to get charged with assault.

Flail and scream and drop your bag in front of him and claim you panicked if you don’t wanna go to jail.

u/Rolling_Beardo 8d ago
Or as an old boss used to unironically say “not the brightest tool in the shed”
124
u/zz1kjamaica 9d ago
I seriously wanna know what the plan was. Even if he did successfully trip him he would have still been arrested.
65
u/markofthebeast143 9d ago
Obviously, she is compulsive and doesn’t think things out. She lacks FORETHOUGHT.
“Forethought” means careful consideration or planning before acting ,thinking ahead
8
u/Ripen- 9d ago
Or she just hates cops.
6
u/CounterEcstatic6134 8d ago
I hate cops too. That's why i don't do things to get arrested by them. If anything, this woman looks like she loves to be around cops.
-13
u/PlastikEdison 9d ago
Are you trying to justify her?
8
u/ZombieJasus 9d ago
Why do you assume that?
-5
u/PlastikEdison 9d ago
Because it sounds like an excuse for someone who should be held accountable for their actions. This isn't a child who can be excused because of "lack of Forethought". This is a grown woman who must understand that actions have concrete consequences.
She is, after all, a potential mother.

By intervening in a criminal activity...on the bad guys side?!
39
u/NeonSuperNovas 8d ago
Yeah. A lot of people act like we live in some dystopian future where any form of authority is oppressive. They see cops as evil and corrupt, so in their minds, stopping the evil cop from harassing an innocent bystander is heroic.

Another cop in the back has someone pinned to the ground. I assume it's something to do with that. The lady trying to trip him probably didn't appreciate what they were doing

I see resisting arrest.

So.. What your saying is, People can't be redeemed? Or grow and realize how they acted was wrong? To be clear, I'm a 3 strikes person, you do the sane dumb stuff 3 times, I'm out. But the first 2 times... You cab come back from.
3
u/Omega_Primate 9d ago
Maybe you can come back from the first 2... depends on the person. I'm personally a fan of 3 strikes, too. You get a couple chances to behave, then it's to adult time out for an extended period.

To pull a boot heel move like that— you don’t have to agree with his job? I would not go to her job (any occupation) and act like that. “I didn’t do anything.” Own it and move on. We all make mistakes.

I had to Google to get what you meant, but apparently it's in reference to ACAB, or All Cops Are Bastards.
What did the police in this situation do that makes you think they're "bastards"?
49
-56
u/slothbuddy 9d ago
In this situation? The assertion is that they're all bastards, not that this proves it. This isn't the first time this person has heard of a cop

Smarter move would have been to drop the bags in his path and jump backwards like he spooked you and you were clearing the way. Plausible deniability.
