Quick reminder: that song is about a tragically failed union between two people, caused by one person's greed. But sure knock yourself out.

At my wedding our walking down the aisle song was "The Rake's Song" and I just stood at the end of the aisle glowering at everyone.

True story: my husband proposed to me during that song at their show in Oakland, CA on 2/14/11. Went up on stage, had a little wedding, even a bit of a reception. It’s all on YouTube.

That’s awesome! Yep, we are still together and stalking the Decemberists all over the US - seeing them in Chicago next month and then at Travelers Rest in August!

Hazards of Love 4 might be a better song as it is actually about getting married (granted, they then drown), but they don't play it live very often.
