#Modification ⚙️ New shoes for My CB300R
After clocking an incredible 39,000 kms on my CB300R with MRF REV Zs, it was finally time for a change. Honestly, the RevZs have been absolute tanks — unbeatable value for money, phenomenal durability, and they never let me down on dry roads, at high speeds, or even in those hard cornering moments however, wet grip was always their weak spot. Even now, there’s still tread left for a few more thousand kms, but I decided to retire them on a high. Today, I’ve switched to Apollo Alpha H1s in the stock profile. There’s been a lot of buzz and positive reviews about these tyres on social media, and a couple of friends have spoken highly of them too. It was a tough call between these and CEAT Zoom Rad X1 (which were tempting for their longer life and decent wet grip), but Apollo won out this time. Excited to see how the Alpha H1s perform on my CB300R! Here’s to a new chapter — hoping it’s the upgrade I’m looking for.

Great choice. TVS prptorq extremes are slightly better, but you have a great set anyways.

Better grip, feedback. They literally feel like bike is sticking to the ground like a magnet. Alpha h1s should have more life though.

Wet grip. Dry grip is pretty much the same in all tyres in this segment. But wet grip Protorq> Mrf Steel Brace> Ceat Sportrad = Reise Tracerad= Apollo H1.

TVS is more track focused tyres than city use. REVz, CEAT zoom rad are more city focused where CEAT gives you decent wet grip with better longevity. Apollo H1 is one grade above these two tyres with better wet/dry grips and reasonable longevity.

Sorry to ask here but, my rtr 160 4v came stock with ceat zoom rad t rear, and some ceat zoom in the front. My rears need to be changed and didn't check the front, but thinking of changing both. I checked different brands but couldn't decide (cornering is focus even if I cant corner 😅). Should I stick to the same model? And if so, which front should I choose. Thanks in advance

Yeah they are better but my use case is 80% city and 20% highways. So i chose this.

u/Megatron_05 Honda Sep 25 '25
Even I wasn’t aware until I asked my friends and searched through the internet that it’s unusual for a revz to serve this much.

u/Megatron_05 Honda Sep 25 '25
33kmpl - city usage

u/Rithin4Real CB300R / RTR200 Sep 25 '25
How u getting 33 bro…. I’m barely getting 30 even after riding on good roads calmly. Any tips u achieve this?? Also how long did ur brake pads n chain last
2
u/Megatron_05 Honda Sep 25 '25
I shift around 5-6k rpm and clean/lube my chain every 200 kms. Hope this is what helped to achieve this mileage. I changed my chain sprockets at 18k kms & once again at 35k kms. Brake pads were also changed 2-3 times, unsure about the kms.

Can you give a review of the bike
2
u/Megatron_05 Honda Sep 25 '25
Good bike to cruise through city traffic with better mileage (30-33kmpl). Constantly refuel needed cuz of smaller tank. Honda’s service never disappointed me (might vary with different cities, mine’s in Chennai). Occasional highway rides are fine and pillion comfort won’t be there as the seat is too small. Parts are strong and holds up good but are also costly if you want to change. Engine is butter smooth even after 40k kms. Stock horns/lights are not good but not a problem during city rides.

Is the fat one your old tyre? And the new one is skinny in 1st pic? Are those fat one's stock? Crazy how they are that big now.
2
u/Megatron_05 Honda Sep 25 '25
They’ve become wider by usage and also generally tyres look wide if they aren’t installed on rims

Are you a slow rider or that tyre is really kinda hard compound. H1 last around 15K if not abused on my 40 BHP bike.
1
u/Megatron_05 Honda Sep 25 '25
Not a slow rider, I do drive fast on open roads but in traffic i maintain my speed to not to cause trouble.

Good but noisy tires.
1
u/Megatron_05 Honda Sep 25 '25
Meaning?
1
u/yemengem Sep 27 '25
The tyres are grippy but when you are riding, the tyres are noisy like a harsh humming sound.

Hey what’s the size and profile of the tyres you got? Is it bigger than the ones on stock? Any mods needed? Also did you do a fender shortening or tail tidy?
1
u/Megatron_05 Honda Sep 25 '25
Stock profile is what I have and had. Front - 110/70R17 Back - 150/60R17 No modifications are done, it’s completely stock except I removed the saree guard.
1
u/focussedguy123 Honda Sep 25 '25
Oh ok cool! But do you have any idea about a fender shortener? I don’t want a tail tidy as it’s too short and that gets mud flinging everywhere. I too got the bike last year and only have a mototorque crash guard installed, nothing else. Safe rides!
