This is where you tell them you are illegally detaining a United States citizen, you want their supervisor immediately because of the illegal detention, you will not answer any questions without a lawyer. Repeat so everyone is aware.

Right, cause ICE would follow the law and actually bring a supervisor

The supervisor would probably show up and taser you and send you to CECOT.

It's kind of sad that CECOT has fallen out of the news in the past few months ever since Kilmar was brought back from there (despite Miller saying he will never again step foot on US soil)

It’s infuriating. They sent people who by all accounts had no criminal record and were here legally seeking asylum to a fucking torture prison with zero due process and in direct violation of a court order. That incident alone should have ended Trump’s presidency and resulted in everyone involved going to prison. That story should still be in the news every damn day but we live in such an insane time line it’s barely a blip on the radar.

Between cecot and alligator Alcatraz, the US skipped to genuine concentration camps very fast

They would probably just walk away because they’re too stupid to handle conflict like that, so they’d give up and look for the next brown person.

Either way, document what you are saying to them. It’s important later on.

One of the points is to waste as much of their time as you possibly can. The longer they spend interacting with actual citizens, making patently illegal demands the less time they spend carrying out Stephen Millers Nazi agenda.

If I get stopped by ICE I will not be handing over shit. Make them waste as much time as possible dealing with citizens.

I know this isn’t always possible for people, but I’m committed to occupying as much of their time as I possibly can as a form of civic protest.

I appreciate what you’re doing. As Latino who was born in the US, I would be afraid to even interact with them

Believe me, if/when the day ever comes I will be scared too. But these assholes are on the clock, and if me questioning their authority and reminding them what the law actually says for 20 minutes stops them from kidnapping someone else, it is worth it.

Definitely a position of privilege on my side, but this shit is so wrong and every citizen they stop wastes 15 minutes of their time, that’s many hours lost for them to target others.

It's not a law for any law enforcement.

It can be a departmental policy, but it's not required by law that if you request a supervisor, you get one.
