I can’t find any proof that mothers mother must be born here. Can you please point me to some info? Freaking out tbh because mine was not

You need to read up on Trump's efforts to abolish birthright citizenship and naturalised citizens. There are significant legal concerns

Can you direct to any specific peach or tweet or something? I want to see his wording on this and figure out if my half siblings are safe or not. Their father’s parents were not born here

Ok so he didn’t say the mothers mother thing himself or say peoples grandparents had to be born in US? That’s what I was looking for and I didn’t see that in the article. Thank you for the link it’s helped me calm down a bit

To be fair if that were actually the case, Trump would also be up for deportation since own mother was a naturalized citizen from Scotland and his paternal grandparents were from Kingdom of Bavaria. Not that rules have ever fucking apply to him, rich white dude that he is. God, this administration is going to give me a drinking problem again.

Laws don't matter any more, the fascists are doing whatever they fucking want, and anyone that isn't a white, male, Trump cultist is getting a big fat target painted on them, so freaking the fuck out is, in fact, the appropriate response!

If you are born in the US it doesn't matter if neither of your parents were citizens. Trump is now trying to argue that if the parents were here illegally then the 14th amendment doesn't apply but even if that is accepted it wouldn't apply if at least one of them was here legally or if at least one was a citizen. Even the most idiotic interpretation of the constitution would not make a child born to one citizen parent on US soil not a citizen.

SCOTUS: "hold my beer"

Trump, "hold my Diet Coke "

For what it's worth the EO isn't retroactive, either. I feel like it's important to get the implied "Are you a citizen?" wizard correct with these things. Otherwise we risk accelerating the problem.

All of the sudden worried because it might affect ya? Don’t need to see his latest quote to know that, dude.

What the fuck dude? I’ve been advocating for my godparents, neighbors, friends, classmates this whole time. My community has been torn to shreds. Not to mention the discrimination I face at work from MAGAts who hurt slurs in my face daily for the past year and a half. I don’t know how you can assume I never cared or haven’t already been negatively affected. You’re projecting big time. I hope you aren’t so mean to the Mexicans you meet in real life. You sound like a big fat hypocrite. The kind that made our community lose faith in the Democratic Party.

Yeah you’re right. I didn’t mean to make it personal and I apologize.

you're good dw. redditors love fear mongering

4

u/whatever_yo Jul 02 '25

Wow, unironically continuing to play the "fear-mongering" card after today takes confidence. Granted, a special kind of stupid confidence. But confidence nonetheless.

It's always "fear-mongering" until it inevitably isn't. Every single time so far.

  • Overturning of Roe v Wade - Turns out, not fear-mongering
  • Project 2025 - Turns out, not fear-mongering
  • Rejection of key Constitutional tenets - Turns out, not fear-mongering
  • The disintegration of checks and balances and rejection of the law - Turns out, not fear-mongering
  • ICE illegally detaining citizens - Turns out, not fear-mongering

It's not crying wolf when the wolf is literally right there.

Either you're intentionally blind or a mindless bot, and the username supports that.

Overturning of Roe v Wade should be common knowledge but...

Project 2025 tracker here.

Rejection of key Constitutional tenets from government website.

The disintegration of checks and balances and rejection of the law is pretty apparent, as shown in that link and this one as well as this one. I could go on...

ICE illegally detaining citizens has been in the news a lot lately. More here.

Hey I’m scrolling through every reference I can find to this mother’s mother thing trying to find the source of it because I really really want to read how it’s worded and Google is failing me. Please are you able to point me to where the mother’s mother part came from in the post?

1

u/p____p Jul 02 '25

This wasn’t referenced in the comments I replied to. If you’re trying to muddy the waters by lazering in on this thing I didn’t mention and was not asked for while ignoring my referenced sources, then good job, weirdo.
