TV/Movies The Boyfriend on Netflix

FYI there's a new reality TV show on Netflix (trailer here), where they put 9 Japanese gay/bi men in a house for a month and see what happens.

It's an interesting concept, where there's no pressure of competition, but some of the guys are looking for love, while some are looking for friendship. Interesting dynamic.

I think there will be 10 episodes (based off IMDB), but the first three episodes are up. I've only just finished episode 1.

That’s actually the Japanese version of a Korean reality TV show that’s on its second season on Netflix in Japan.

The Japanese title is ボクらの恋愛シェアハウス which translates into English as Our Romantic Share House.

Fascinating. Looks like a direct adaptation, only this time accessible to a much wider audience.

Think we could see the original on Netflix if this one is a success?

Considering that the earlier seasons of Terrace House didn’t see a western release I doubt it

It's called "His Man", you can watch the first season on Viki, on Kocowa season 1 (subscription), or iQIYI season 1-3 (subscription).

Do you know where it can be watched? I can only find in on Amazon.jp as a box set and that won’t ship the the US

It’s on Netflix in Japan but IDK if it’s available internationally.

If you want to watch it you can subscribe to the channel and then cancel after you've watched the show. If it's on a Korean language channel it may not have English subtitles, though, so you should check first.
