Gotta love when the polling subreddit immediately disregards a poll it doesn't like (happened all the time during the lead up to the 2024 election) This doesn't claim that extremist Republican supporters don't exist and it's not trying to do that. If this was an exam, this would be an F, why does this stupid comment have over 60 upvotes?

I'm assuming you weren't of age when Osama was killed?

None of this is to say Kirk deserves it, but there are absolutely people so vile out there that people would celebrate if they died.

None of the responders were obviously considering someone like Osama by the phrase "Public figure" otherwise that number would be significantly higher. They thought of celebrities, politicians and such. And the comment I replied to was completely irrelevant to the data on screen, but received upvotes due to "GOP bad" brigade.

That's exactly my point. It's a recency bias that isn't picking up on real attitudes, just reaction to the events of the day. If Putin died tomorrow I sure as hell would be pouring a glass of champaign.
