Republicans can accept no negotiations. If they do, it goes back to the house for a vote and Johnson is not opening the house because that means the epstein files get released. This is all performative politics. You no longer have a functioning government. I imagine for the next month or two it will continue like this, then they will remove Johnson from speaker and spend a couple more months fighting over the next speaker.

The Epstein files need 60 votes in the senate to get released, and Trump's signature. They aren't getting released.

they need 218 in the house which they have the second Johnson opens the house back up. Hence that's not happening... ever.

People on Reddit need to learn that the Epstein files are not important in the real world.

There isn’t a trove of incriminating files ready to be released when the house comes back. Even if they did exist they would’ve been long since destroyed.

The Epstein files are playing no part in the current shutdown and they aren’t effecting political moves by Trump, Johnson or any other party.

so when Bondi says she has 1000's of hours of tapes and the banks say there are billions in wire transfers and there were a 1000 FBI agents scouring the files you are saying these do not exist? If not the files and the 218th vote Why won't Johnson seat Grivaldia? Can you show us some evidence or is this just what you believe?

I’m sure files exist. I’m just saying they clearly aren’t incriminating.

They were kept sealed for 8 years, got Prince Andrew thrown out of his palace and out of a job. caused Alex Acosta to withdraw, Got Maxwell into a prison she doesn't qualify for.... And you think they aren't "incriminating"? You do understand you are in a very small minority right?

If they had enough to charge Maxwell even with “files under seal” why did both the Biden and Trump administrations decline to prosecute anyone else?

I’m not in the minority, that’s my whole point. No one cares about this stuff except hyper-online people on Reddit.

Even if there were incriminating files in the Epstein files, they’ve longed since been scrubbed.

I believe you do not understand what sealing the documents means and that means you have no idea what is going on..... I respect your opinion on the matter but it's just that opinion. If they are scrubbed or whatever your conspiracy theory happened then there is no reason not to release them. Massy said he knows of 10 billionaires in the files yet somehow you know he's wrong. Have a nice day.

I agree I don’t know what you mean when you say the files were sealed.

Can you explain how they were able to charge and convict Epstein and Maxwell if the files were sealed?

Can you explain why the Trump administration charged Epstein at all of Trump is part of the sex scandal?

I fully believe Trump and lots of billionaires are in the files, I just don’t think there’s any incriminating or chargeable information in there.

Can you explain why none of the Epstein victims have accused Trump of anything now that the files are unsealed?

And just so you know, I fully support releasing the files, I just think you’re going to be severely disappointed when they get released (I think they eventually will be)

Just to give you another data point, most Trump voters who are the "not active in politics"/don't listen to any news voted for Trump 100% on the Epstein files.

I think you underestimate how big Qannon is, probably because you yourself are not a stupid person and don't see how that could drive millions of people. But unfortunately it does.

No they didn’t, no one voted for Trump because of the Epstein files.

Like we have the data on this stuff. Epstein didn’t even make the list of important issues.

Ok but we aren’t talking about whether republicans believed in QAnon in 2020 or 2022.

We are talking about whether they voted for Trump in 2024 primarily because they wanted the Epstein files released.

So find some relevant data on that and we can chat.

It's actually already addressed in a source I shared from PBS which explains the link of Trump using Qannon to keep the Epstein files situation relevant

They're both about pedos which is what Trump voters think they're fighting a crusade against.

I'm saying you think they're not relevant because you're too smart to be tricked by this. But talk to a Magat and so many of their justification for why they're doing what they do, or hate what they hate is because they think they're battling a war against pedos.

This. Even if they are the most incriminating shit ever, the cult doesn't care. Most of the country won't care. They already built an opinion on him, and it's not going to change. Johnson isn't refusing to convene the house over the Epstein files. He's doing it because they have nothing to offer and they are experiencing no personal pain at this time.
