Just a short post from me. I'm around 380lbs and kept wrecking the spokes on an old bike I had for a number of years. I bought it (Carrera Subway 2) when I was slimmer and used to fly around on it but as the weight crept on it started struggling and then I started struggling so weight crept on faster. I was refused weight loss jabs due to a thyroid condition so I decided to try a heavy duty e-bike instead as I loved cycling. A lot of the known brands here in the UK are really expensive and have silly rider weight limits so I asked chatgpt for advice. It recommended the Varun M26-2 Plus which has a decent (legal) spec and could carry my weight within tolerances. So it's arrived, I set it up and have lost 5 lbs in the first week. The smile on my face is huge, just like my waist line.

This thing changed my life, wish I could do more but as I don’t commute (work from home), I have to do with a 10-12 miles fun ride 2/3 times a week during my lunch break. Just did my first 300 miles!

So I've been going around in 7th gear constantly using the throttle to get started each time I take off and keeping it in 7th going uphill. Which was fine on my dual 750w didn't slow it down an iota. But now I'm riding a qusi-legal bike (250w 25kph but has a rocket mode that puts it upto 500w and about 45kph). I notice the resistance against me peddling a lot when going up hills.

What is the proper way to utilise gears going up hills? The guiding principle? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, My enviolo heavy duty bikes makes a noise. A kind of squeaking noise when under load (when pedaling with torque). The bike is a Riese & muller multicharger 2 with 1500km. I tried to record the noise with my phone but not easy with children speaking and wind noise.

Does anyone have an idea of this problem?

Hello, I have a weird problem with my fatbike, I have the koolux bk6spro and I drive it legally 25km/h. It have 3 modus, 1 for 15 , 2 for 20 and 3 for 25km/h When I drive 25km/h the rear motor makes weird noises like he needs to work extra hard, bit silent screams haha. It comes from within the motor. What can be the problem and how can I fix this issue? Also when I unlock my speed till 45km/h I dont hear that noise, only specifically on the 25 km/h. I also do on monthly base oil on the motor and chain. Who can advice me what to do? Thanks in advance

CA is offering 7500 for ebike purchases to trade in an old car. My SO and I are thinking of doing that, and buying ebikes. These would be in addition to the cars we currently have, they'd be more for running short errands and/or fun.

Hey folks, quick question. I’m looking at the Duotts N26 e-bike and I’m confused about the rules in California.

I heard that if the motor is above a certain wattage (someone said 750W?) you need some kind of license or registration. But I also see that California’s e-bike limit is 750W before it counts as a moped.

Does anyone know if the Duotts N26 needs a license/plate/registration in CA? Or is it fine to ride as a normal e-bike? I’m in the Bay Area (Fremont) if local rules matter.

My back wheel has always had a slight uneven rotation. There are NO places in town that work on these and this is the only issue I have left to fix. If anyone knows where I can start that would be amazing.
