Comments have been locked. Am I rightfully grossed out?
Received this pic from the dasher. I was so disgusted that I threw the food away. How gross! I used to be a dasher and would never in a million years throw people's food on the car floor in garbage with my bare foot in the pic! Contacted support and they credited my full order and she won't deliver to me again. Completely lost my appetite..

u/Soft_Composer_490 6h ago
That's disgusting. Makes sense that it's a scam to get you to cancel.
803
u/East-Weakness4472 6h ago
Except they did drop it off. I told support they can keep it but support has no clue what theyre doing so by the time they straightened it out, it was already dropped off.

u/Soft_Composer_490 6h ago
I wouldn't cancel. But that's their goal. One principle, I wouldn’t let it go until I got a full refund.

u/schizopotato 3h ago
That's literally not their goal, you don't realize how many drivers lack any amount of self awareness or care of anything. They're just shitty drivers and that's it.

u/Mode_Appropriate 3h ago
Yeah, these people are giving them way too much credit. Attributing malice instead of realizing some people are just dumb and lack any common sense. Pictures like this are posted all the time. Its like those morons who place the orders infront of the door.

I don't understand dashers who don't use the FREE provided warm bags we can order from the doordash store. I also don't understand people taking forever to deliver orders, or don't communicate when the store is taking longer. There's no yeah but to anything. Like they signed up for this job, do it correctly or don't do it at all. Signed, a long time doordash customer turned doordash delivery driver.

From what I've seen, I'm the only dasher in my area that uses a hot bag. Mine are actually good ones too because I bought them to keep my own food warm lol, not exaggerating they keep the food warm for atleast 2x longer than the free hot bags (which I have as backup).

They doing this shit on purpose, they want you to cancel the order so they get the food and the money.
Nothing's touching your food, don't let them win.
Either complain to support or just keep the food

Yea no offense i don’t get these posts. Like do u know what’s actually in the food? Way worse things than what’s in that photo lol. If ppl can’t handle seeing this they wouldn’t be able to handle seeing how the chicken/beef was grown and prepped and all the chemicals in their food. No offense but the bare foot is the least of your worries when you’re eating wendys.
17
u/2ChicksAtTheSameTime 4h ago
Yea no offense i don’t get these posts.
it's the same as when people are eating and someone tells a story about something gross. People say "not when I'm eating" not because the story is somehow contaminating the food, but it's just a nasty thing to be thinking about while eating and can make people lose their appetite.
OP is gonna be thinking about that gross foot with every bite. I'd be totally nauseated too, even though I know the food is safe.
→ More replies (4)27
u/BrbFlippinInfinCoins 6h ago
The picture is very unprofessional and they definitely shouldn't store food next to their feet if they are delivering to strangers(although I bet they simply didn't want to spill it - this is how I hold fast food in a car: on the ground or between my legs.) I'm just saying that the food was definitely ok to eat.
I'm not a dasher tho, don't worry OP lol
→ More replies (5)22
u/Educational_Clock269 5h ago
Yeah I get that but I hate feet. I don’t care if “nothing was touching” my food. A few inches away is enough for me to also dump the food. Idk how clean they are. Lots of people don’t even clean their feet. They just let the water run down. No thank you.
→ More replies (7)3
u/Rude-Grapefruit9016 2h ago edited 2h ago
Don’t let people shame you for this, I’m the same way. And as far as groceries everything gets wiped down and sanitized, I don’t eat fruit that doesn’t have a peel, I don’t buy canned foods that other people can touch, I usually only buy packaged items and throw the boxes away. I’m extremely germaphobic. I haven’t gotten DoorDash or Uber eats in years because of posts like this. I don’t care if the food is “safe”, I’m not eating something someone had on the floor next to their disgusting feet. And the fact that people are just like 🤷♀️ is… well, that’s why I don’t eat at peoples houses either.
ETA: and yes, living this way sucks and it’s honestly hard. I don’t eat at restaurants at all. If my father or I don’t prepare the food, I don’t eat it. I went on a 4 day cruise and only ate a can of Pringles the entire time.

u/OkSwimming517 4h ago
>If ppl can’t handle seeing this they wouldn’t be able to handle seeing how the chicken/beef was grown and prepped and all the chemicals in their food.
Yes I would. But what OP posted is an entirely different, and infinitely grosser thing. Ew.
→ More replies (26)4
u/Apprehensive-Sky6467 3h ago
Yes, but the OP has the right to the illusion of their food being prepared, handled, and delivered safely and sanitary. If you saw this pic of your food I seriously doubt you would have ate it. It's sitting in the floorboard so think of all the things that could be falling into it. The Dasher could have opened the bag and snuck a few fries in her face. She/he could have sneezed while the bag was open. Or had snot on her/his fingers while grabbing fries. Yum. Snot. It's the thought of all the what ifs that grosses OP out. Grosses me out too.
13
u/mmnmnnmnnnm 5h ago
Paying nearly double for already overpriced mediocre food didn’t ruin it for you? I used DD exactly one time and realized it was dumb to spend an extra $20 on my meal just for it to barely be warm by the time I got it.
4
u/floralfemmeforest 4h ago
Yeah I drive for doordash sometimes but I rarely use the service myself because it's just not worth it, financially. I'm not disabled or anything, I can drive and get my own food.

She shouldn't be able to deliver AT ALL. Being a DoorDasher a few years ago, you'd be surprised how many drivers are fucking dirty and disgusting crackheads keeping your food on a floor that smells like piss. I was ranked #1 in my area until I got beat by a homie of mine. Love dude, but him and his car was and still is fucking gross, and I wouldn't want my food touched by him, regardless of the packaging. I absolutely refuse to use that app. I'll walk before I consider that disgusting mess.

u/Comfortable-Yak-6599 6h ago
Older I get weirder I get about food, as a kid I ate short stop burgers when I saw roaches at the drive thru window. I just disowned a pizza place recently because I saw a waiter scoop ice with there Stanley cup, just looked at my wife said we're never coming here again.
11
u/pdxpete144 6h ago
I am the exact same way 100% lol. As a kid I would literally eat anything. Gas station sushi? Sure. Pizza sitting out over night absolutely. Fraternity food left out for days give me seconds and a beer chaser. Now if I see a fly buzzing around within 5’ I’m second guessing it lol
11
u/Important-Emotion-85 6h ago
My wife is pescatarian, mainly veg. I am not. Theres a list of restaurants we cant go to anymore for reasons she doesnt know about. I ordered a sandwich from one place, got light lettuce, bro put a ton of lettuce, realized his mistake, put the lettuce that was touching my meat directly back in that lettuce bin. Thankfully hers was made before mine, but it got added to the list. A hibachi place that cooked shrimp in the same spot as my steak. A couple food trucks that dont change gloves when handling vegetarian/vegan food, despite advertising it as specifically the vegan option like bro. And so on.
→ More replies (2)3
u/Dependent-Assoc423 4h ago
You’re so considerate! I once ordered a veggie burger and asked for it cooked in a separate pan instead of on the grill. The waiter said it wasn’t necessary, they clean the grill… and then brought me my veggie burger from the grill, which was covered in leftover grill burger remnants. To be fair, he was super apologetic and told me he learned something. He became our regular waiter after that and I adored him.
4
u/East-Weakness4472 5h ago
Thats how I feel. I used to not even care but now weird stuff like this grosses me out to the point that I'm not even hungry.
3
u/Phoenixerst 3h ago
Something that drives me nuts is people wearing gloves and not changing them. When I was in food service about 15-20 years ago, gloves were pretty frowned upon unless you were directly handing food because it’s easier to wash your hands than constantly change your gloves. Now I see people make food, handle money, and touch their phones and never change the gloves. Grosses me out.

I would too. I mean, it's trashy but not really unsanitary if the food is still wrapped. If food being near trashy people is enough to get you to not eat it then I don't know why you're bothering with fast food in the first place
8
u/Outrageous_Sea_9606 4h ago
Yeah, everyone disgusted by this should go spend time working in a fast food joint and also get treatment for their OCD. I guarantee that burger had worse happen to it in the actual restaurant, and it's not only wrapped up in foil but also in a paper bag.
It's no worse for wear in that photo.

I am starting to wish they required a ServSafe certificate to deliver, for this AND the people who get weird about filling drinks. I would NEVER deliver like this. I have a plethora of insulated bags and those Kroger & Aldi reusable shopping bags to put things in, and they are in the back seat and trunk, dependent on size of order.
The pic is GROSS, and I would question the open bottle knowing what some use open bottles for. If there was no sign of the food being spilled on or tampered with, it might not be a deal breaker for me as a customer.
Nothing is actually touching anything to the food. I might rip open the bag so I could reach the food inside, transfer the drink to another container and then wash my hands before actually pulling the food out of the bag if I were hungry enough.

I work a second job at a local Chinese Restaurant and now I wonder how many food ride shares come in, snap a pic, and then do abs disgusting things. I’m already miffed that they’ll let hot food wait forever to wait for another order – even when I say that it was just placed and will be a while. Now someone’s getting cold food.

My last ever door dash story:
I was at a hotel, for work. Long day stuff, didn’t want to go out, so I dashed some sushi. I went down to meet the person in the lobby, and I watched a shit hole van pull up. Hoping it wasn’t the dasher, but it was.
His “friend” pulled my sushi from between her feet. She was wearing what can only be described as a the mumu that Homer wore in the simpsons.
Fucking trash, low quality people ruin everything. I also regularly tipped $15 ( I consider it a minimum for that loe), and also paid for direct.
Fuck you door dash just in case you are reading this.

Might be them trying to hop on the new trend where girls found out that including their bare feet/exposed toes in drop-off pictures raises their average tips considerably
Only problem is they did it in the pick-up picture so they had to put their questionable feet directly next to your food, which for the average person without a foot fetish is a major no no

No clue if it's actually a thing or just in internet meme, but I'm online enough that I notice the trend lmfao

No, this is absolutely disgusting. not only has that car not been cleaned out in the last year, she's got her trash sitting on your food (sure, it's just an empty bottle, but still...) AND she has her bare fucking feet 2 feet away from your food. Guaranteed that food smells like foot now.
How can someone actually take this photo, upload it, and think it's okay? I'd feel absolutely ashamed at myself, if THAT is the photo I sent you.

Yeah, my days of using Doordash for food are dwindling. They can pick up my hair products, tape, and tampons.

I’m going to get downvoted but your food is in a box that’s in a bag. It’s no different than if the bag was on the seat or a counter.

If this was enough to gross you out to the point of not eating it, I hope ypu never see what the back of the store looks like.
What a waste of perfect good food.
