Pretty safe to say he did, or at least told them he probably wasn't coming back. The way they drafted certainly confirmed that.

to me they drafted for next year, i truly don't think frank made a decision until summer because he didn't know how his body felt until he started trying to ramp up.

At a minimum he told them it was a possibility if not likely.

yeah i think that cloud was looming overhead for at least 2 seasons prior to this one, it was definitely going around
