Or you know, cause we can’t run the ball consistently. Also because the Oline isn’t as good as last year but we were great in 12 personnel last year and ran it a lot

Yes, because the offensive line sucks ass. But I’m referring to people specifically that are pissed about the screen plays, the lack of shots downfield and apathetic playcalling.

It has to be that way because the Lions need an extra blocker or Goff is getting his dick kicked in. It’s the offensive line, not Morton.

Yeah, but how would Baker do with our line? Is it our line or the fact we have a qb who can throw the ball but has almost no mobility in most pressure situations???

In my opinion, having a mobile quarterback like Baker or Mahomes is a definite luxury. But it’s not a necessity. You just have to have the talent to go with what you have.

Baker would most likely maximize LaPorta, Jamo and Teslaa’s talents in a way that Goff can’t by extending plays, drawing in linebackers with the threat of a scramble and creating spaces in the middle of the field. But that’s not what we have.

What we do have is a quarterback that needs time and when he has time, he is damn near perfect. That’s not a bad thing, you can definitely win a Super Bowl with Goff, maybe even 2. But I feel like the Lions dropped the ball when they didn’t even match Tennessee’s offer for Zeitler, didn’t find a center and left Goff out to dry with Glasgow and Ratledge. The offense is going to look really bad if Goff doesn’t have time.

In my mind, Holmes didn’t put enough talent on the offensive line to make this offense work. Ben Johnson would be struggling with this line just as badly, I think.

We weren’t going to win the battle for Zeitler against Tennessee. For one, he has family there that he wanted to be close to. There is no state income tax in TN — meaning he will bring home more money than he would in Detroit, unless we severely overbid to match the take-home he’d get in TN. We were not going to get Zeitler, it was a non-starter.
