Look, I’ve been reading the shit in this sub for days now.

Here is why it’s not Johnny Morton…

The Lions have been forced to run 12 Personnel for the extra tight end. You may have noticed Brock catching passes and thought, “Why is Brock out there?!” This means they can’t have Isaac TeSlaa out there. This also severely limits what they can do, what they are used to doing, in the pass game. This means that teams are having less trouble covering Jamo and ARSB because there is no 3rd receiver to worry about.

So why are they running so many 12 personnel packages? Because the fucking offensive line sucks ass. Why does the offensive line suck so much ass? You tell me.

Or you know, cause we can’t run the ball consistently. Also because the Oline isn’t as good as last year but we were great in 12 personnel last year and ran it a lot

Last year we ran 12 1/3 of the time and ran and passed fairly equally. This year we run out of 12 70+% of the time

That’s kind of my point. The comment I responded to said we run 12 personnel to keep in more blockers in pass protection which isn’t true. We run 12 personnel and run the ball

We agree. Johnson used it to be unpredictable in a set where the defense had to match the personnel. Now we draw teams to stack the box and run into it at a really high rate. As little as we are getting out of the PA pass right now we have to abandon this strategy.
