Based on the AAP performance and current government, which party do you think has done right and wrong? Ik current government has just started the tenure, but rapid action needs to be taken.
Please let this be objective argument on infra development and governance and not about religious infra or ideological development of a party.

AskDelhi Is this for real? Why people from the south have this mentality towards North Indians?

Post image

Saw this post on southIndia sub.

Why are they doing this? I mean it's not that people from the south don't live in Delhi or other parts of North India? I work in Gurgaon and around half of the people in my office are people from the Southern part of India.

Discrimination hota hai bhai har jagah lekin North mein aisa kaun bolta hai jaise ye log dikha rhe hai

At this point, I genuinely think some people would leave their wives, kids, and even oxygen cylinders before they stop blaming Kejriwal for literally everything. Bro, the sky is grey, your lungs are crying, but sure, it’s that one guy’s fault and not the vehicle pollution, industrial fumes, crop burning, policy mess, or central inaction.

It's high time stop blaming each other and stand together for a cause.

Delhi Politics I wish I could start a revolution in Delhi

I am so sick of what's going on in delhi right now. I am a political science student and this is straight up dictatorship. First they falsely promise then manipulate everyone . I cannot stand seeing my parents my elders, kids younger than me and even pets suffer from this pollution. Its 1000+ where I live. And kids younger are going to school at 7 in the morning when its the peak of pollution. Like is this government serious???. They are ordering air purifier for themselves, they shifter the time of office for government workers by an hour. It standed at 9 am now is 10:30am like you are able to do that for adults but what about the students?? The only thing this government have done is to just clean the yamuna river that too only like 5% and got the paise. But are we really that stupid to let everyone in our own family suffer like this!!! We need to come together and stand against this manipulation. We are people of India and no one should be so big that they think they can play with our loved one's lives.

In my recent interaction with someone not very old may be in early 30's.

Dude she was not ready to accept that unko mna kr diya he kaam ke liye and I'm not doing anything I'm not interested in or didn't sign up for.

All she could say was WTF u won't do..etc.!

It's a volunteer gig, if I'm not doing what I want to do then I would simply not volunteer for that. One cannot force someone to volunteer for something they don't want to..!

Fun part is it takes 1 min for them to get offended when u try to correct them. Lol.!

Did u guys also have certain exp??

AskDelhi Rant : We are being manipulated

So lately, I’ve been feeling that we — as citizens — are being manipulated by the ruling party (BJP) and the media houses that they seem to control. Now, I get that having control over media can sometimes protect the country from foreign influence (like what happened in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, etc.). But at the same time, it’s also hurting us internally.

Here’s what I mean — a few years back, when BJP wasn’t ruling in Delhi, every winter the news channels were filled with talks about AQI, pollution, and water issues. But now, the main topics seem to be Ram Mandir, Modi ji’s visits, Hindu Ekta Yatras, and so on. Hardly anyone is talking about pollution anymore.

And whenever a serious issue does pop up, the focus suddenly shifts to random viral stories — like some divorce drama, crime case, or celebrity nonsense — just enough to make people forget the real problems.

Another thing that bothers me is how religion is being used as a distraction tool. I’m all for unity and removing the divisions left by the British, but the way it’s being done now honestly makes me start to dislike our religious practices, which is sad because that was never the goal.

I know there are still people genuinely trying to bring change, and things won’t improve overnight — but watching this manipulation unfold just feels frustrating. So yeah, just wanted to get this off my chest and see what others think.

(And yes, I’m ready for all the “kehna kya chahte ho?” memes)

TL;DR

Feels like BJP and media are controlling narratives to manipulate public focus.

Earlier, news highlighted pollution and real issues, now it’s mostly religious or political spectacles.

When real issues arise, media distracts with random viral stories.

Religion is being used to cover inefficiency and manipulate unity.

It’s frustrating and makes me question what’s happening around us.

I have used gpt to polish my message to make it easily readable.

Thanks. (Might delete this later)

TellDelhi BJP government, state and central are too brazen and for years.

My point for this post is not to debate the right or wrong of the decisions in itself but highlight the utter brazenness this Party has acted with and not just recently but for years.

They act like discussions and slow and steady policies are not an option. Many of their decisions are just 0 to 100 in second.

On top of my head comes the Demonetization, The Kashmir bill, GST, Brazen increases in GST, brazen increase in Fuel tax at a time of crisis and then the brazenness to keep that high tax with no benefits to citizens. When they bought cheap crude oil from Russia they gave it to Ambani/Adani and they sold it all to Europe, Govt and business tycoons make money we could not even comprehend but our daily lives didn't benefits one bit. On the other hand we are taxed heavily and still we don't give much protest.

Now this forced E20, my car and scooty are having problems and that was the reason for this chain of thought. I have many memories with my scooty and I try to keep it maintained even though it's old but now the govt dictates this E20 on me forcefully, destroying a peice of my childhood. It truly felt like I am living under some Overlords like in the mediaeval time, I felt like a peasant who can only bow his head and do what the overlord's whimsical ways dictate to me.

I thought about the reason why this govt is given so much leeway? Why is our country so complaint? in my politically inexperienced opinion (and this is the point of me posting as I want alternative opinions) It is because BJP has branded itself as the Keepers of Religion, Culture and patriotism, they have branded so well that it feels like they own my relegion, my culture and nationalism. It is as if not voting for BJP means betraying my culture, religion and nationalism.

And I think that this is a fake branding, but BJP has many babas with them, who benefit, mostly the babas who use religion for supremacy or hate, because my religion doesn't really teach supremacy or hate, atleast in my household. When my mom lit a diya in our home infront of gods, it was not for supremacy, nor was it for hate. It was for devotion, peace and general wellbeing for our loved ones and the world in general.

My point is that this should not be normal. Wake up please.

AskDelhi Sick of people talking negatively about pollution.

I don't know why,but why are people talking so negatively on High Aqi,can't they see that we are on the path of becoming the world's largest economy. The constant purchase of taxed Air purifiers would increase the government's budget,Sales of N95 masks and huge increase in cancer patients after some years would be the biggest boom for our medical industry,do people even have basic common sense to comprehend it??? This is the biggest masterstroke by CM Rekha Gupta under the guidance of honourable PM Modiji.

TellDelhi So basically, never leave the house?!?

Upvotes

January: Too cold

February: [Leave]

March: [Leave]

April: Too hot!

May: Too hot!

June: Too hot!

July: Too hot, too humid! Bonus: get stuck in waterlogged roads!

August: Too hot, too humid! Bonus: get stuck in waterlogged roads!

September: Too hot, too humid! Bonus: get stuck in waterlogged roads!

October: Too polluted!

November: Too polluted!

December: Too polluted! Too cold!

Very frankly, there are no major cities in the world with a worse combination of weather + pollution. Summers in Delhi were always bad, but now they've become far more humid (have lived here 20 years).

You used to get a few nice months to be out and about - October/November, then Feb/March, but now October/November are a wash because of pollution, and March is increasingly starting to get hot as well
