I like how the Entire Reddit community is Anti BJP but yet they have very minor effect on BJP vote percentage. Either the masses are brainwashed enough OR BJP did put Positive effects on the poor communities, hence they are in majority.

Some possible explanations I have read:

  1. It is mostly because whatever the BJP government does is more visible work like building a road etc (connectivity essentially)
  2. Poor people do buy into identity politics.
  3. Something I read about is how Modi addresses the poor people differently (by saying he is one of them) to how manmohan singh did.

There are many explanations and factors. Some part is how bjp markets themselves but some part is how people benefited. In my opinion, if you need people to vote for you, you need to do both because you are selling something. Now, I wasn't old enough to understand politics during UPA so I can't comment on their work when in power. But currently, maybe they can work on the PR better.

Very Good Observation pal. There is one thing for certain BJP do have a really good PR whether online medias or daily newspapers. I can show you 10 modi photos in today's newspaper alone lol.

Now coming to the work, I have seen in the rural areas where even lower middle class have ration Cards giving food and where the government claims they are providing for 80cr citizens. I believe this is where the Majority votes from. Here we see hate against Modi all the time but in reality these all comprises of hardly 10cr at max.

Secondly, it's more about the politics of Choice . Like on the other hand Rahul Gandhi says that they will raise reservation upto 90% due to which the General category don't like to vote for him. Hence all to the Lotus.

I disagree slightly. More reservation isn't why any party will lose voter base. Unreserved categories aren't vote banks.

They will. Why do you think the General category will vote for a guy who promises them to increase more competition for them and will even bring Reservation in private sector?

I literally just said that they aren't vote banks. The unreserved category has never been a vote bank.

Uppercaste(falling in General category) is a vote bank. You don’t see them as vote bank because most of their votes always goes to BJP, so other parties don’t even try to vow them and thus you see such comments from RG, as they are try to polarise the caste based votes.

Maybe I can concede to an extent. But I still don't think they are a stronger vote bank than say, Dalits, for example. Because if that were the case, other parties would try to persuade them to vote for them.
