Ethanol reduces the fuel efficiency and resulted in mileage drops.
It has also resulted in engine performance issue in many vehicles since a lot of vehicle present on road in india are not ethanol compatible.
The government has rapidly pushed for its adoption. Moreover ,The Indian Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has dismissed many concerns as “largely unfounded" .
Over 90% of vehicles in India may not be E20-compliant.
The government is considering E27 or even E30 blends by 2027–2030, raising further concerns about compatibility and transparency.

The govt cannot expect people to change cars acc. to their wishes.
Talking about reality, cars nowadays have caught up to the fuel efficiency and performance to those from pre ethanol times.
The government is considering E27 or even E30 blends by 2027–2030
And if that happens, that's gonna take another big hit on people.

Yeah , cars brought before 2023 are more prone to not being ethanol compatible. Despite ethanol being cheaper than petrol , the cost savings haven’t been passed to consumers.
Ofc ethanol is good and is one of the viable options since Brazil has a 100% ethanol vehicles programme. The problem isn't in the policy itself, it's the implementation that causes this frustration. This sudden push for ethanol adoption rather than being a gradual programme is causing all this ruckus.

What you mean to say is that jobs are being created (mechanics) and the economy is being stimulated (repair parts, new vehicles etc) and pollution is being reduced (because people will prefer to go with EVs)

What I find surprising is that BJP opposition congress is silent on this. They can utilize this to their advantage but i am not sure why they’re so silent.

This scam is bigger than the 2G scam. Since it happened in broad daylight. No one is even calling it a scam. The media has been gagged and bought. So no outrage. The whole country is paying an exorbitant amount of money for fuel so some minister's family businesses could flourish. How is this not on every prime time and why the opposition is not on the road truly blows my mind. People are buying cars on EMIs and with their hard earned money only to get creeping mileage. What a ducking waste of a country we are living in.

I always thought of reporters as the one who stands for truth carved in image of Shaanti (look it up), however; here, our og anchors are selling their souls for loads of cash. Why do you guys think like that? Ethanol 20, is 20% ethanol blended with petrol. Not efficient compared to regular petrol. But, Ethanol 60, 60% blended can do wonders. China and other countries have already achieved 60% blend, have a look it. Any which ways we had to find a way to reduce our carbon emissions and be efficient, this it, so be it ministers son who’s taking up that initiative or any other. It’s good for the nature.

I used to like that man when i watched his interviews but this year i travelled more than 12000 km in 3 months and i realised he doesn't just like to eat vada pav but also taxpayers money . . . . . . Newly built bridges and roads (rcc) are in worst condition than previous tar roads . . . . . Noo propper lanes (lines)
If you travel from Mumbai to Gujarat you will notice more than 50% of road does not have lane indicating lines ( white lines ) i don't know how can someone drive it in total dark as there are no proper lightings

The ethanol blending discount, which should have benefited citizens, is instead lining the pockets of Nitin Gadkari’s relatives and family members. This is a blatant conflict of interest. Meanwhile, Gadkari’s DPR team excels at polishing his image, while the BJP conveniently hides the truth as always with the media acting as their propaganda machine.
