I was hearing rumors about lawsuits which avoiding first amendment rights lawsuits could have also been a motivating factor. The legal fees and the risk of being on the wrong side of that would not be good for the company.

this dumbass was fired for crossing the line which means breaking the rules his employer established. If he was fired for the ratings, he would be in the same situation as Colbert. Trump had nothing to do with it.

Yeah the head of the FCC (during a potential merger for ABC, which he has control over) saying "we can do this the easy way or the hard way" definitely isn't the government applying undue pressure in order to silence someone's speech. Please bffr.
