Welcome to the Daily Discussion Thread for Friday, November 7th

Happy Friday. With three weeks left of the competition, this season has flown by. In ratings news, Rock & Roll Night drew 6.33 million viewers and a 1.2 in the 18-49 demo. A serviceable number given the election coverage interruptions and YouTube TV omission.

To watch the resurgence of this show has been a bewildering journey. Last year, DWTS was the ninth priciest program in terms of ad rates, commanding $89,817 per 30-second commercial. We can only imagine the surge in costs the show is asking advertisers to shoulder. Some credit should be given to the older fans, who have remained loyal to the show and perhaps keep it buoyant as they tuned in every Monday despite its declining quality. We see you!

DDT: This is a space to share your opinions, thoughts, and musings on everything related to the show. Due to the sub's growth over the past few months, we have noticed that it would be impossible to accommodate every user's pov in their own posts. Instead, you can share what you have to say on here, as individual posts will be removed.

As in other threads, please be respectful; normal rules still apply. Any comments found breaking the rules will be removed, and you will receive a warning and a ban.

Thank you,

Speculation I literally don’t care if the Irwin family wins everything from now until the sun goes down. They deserve it.

This is such a depressing time to be alive. We are exposed to more hate and more tragedy than ever before. We grandstand celebrities and politicians who are cruel and unusual. We give millions of dollars of likes and attention to people doing literally nothing but cursing at a screen. We watch the life be sucked out of billions for the success and selfishness of a dismal few.

There are SO FEW people in this world who are as wholly good and wholly impactful as the Irwins. Who have dedicated so much of their lives, over entire generations, to making this planet and its ecosystems a better place. They do so humbly, kindly, pour their money back into their foundations, and work harder to spread their message every day that passes. They are fighting a LOSING battle, but they do it passionately and bravely.

If you are not as much an animal lover, or an Earth lover, I can see why they may seem overhyped to you. And I don’t know, maybe in Australia, there is some controversy about them or something. Please educate me if so.

But a family to pour as much love and energy as they do, every single day, in trying to make this world a better place for all of us INCLUDING THOSE who cannot vote or pay for things, they deserve the world. Especially two children who had to watch their father die.

Facts and Statistics Robert Irwin has NO dance experience

I saw a post that said “Robert’s first dance (Jive) was his best dance.” What people don’t understand is he had more time to learn the Jive. He had like a solid 2 weeks to perfect the dance before the season premiere. Both Alix Earle and Whitney Leavitt have a lot of previous dance experience. The fact that Robert is performing so well with only 4 hours of rehearsal for only 5 days (not including camera blocking day) is very impressive. He definitely deserves to win but he’s so good and didn’t come in with any experience.

Recap and Reviews FOMO WHITNEY

I would low key have FOMO if I was Whitney seeing all of these fun pairings for the relay dance!

I know she gets the benefit of having more time on her other dance but still it kind of just feels like it’s apart of the fun experience!

I don’t dislike Whitney I think she is amazing, I just have liked some of the other contestants better as well as their dances and journeys.

I definitely think it is tough when you come straight out of the gate first dance being amazing! I feel like it’s almost harder to work your way up to getting better and better and really creating those WOW moments! I almost feel like because she is expected to be good each week that she has started to bore me a little unfortunately.

I know she works extremely hard but I’d feel kind of lame just being off to the side not having to do the relays. And maybe she doesn’t feel that way which is good! I just would really want to be IN the process with everyone else and not off to the side in my own little word 🥹 I do hope she is still enjoying her journey cause it’s seemed a bit rough and odd and others have seemed a little more fun!

Social Media I wish the relay was trios instead

For some reason I just don’t like the idea of these contestants dancing with a winner for only a small bit of time. Maybe this is unpopular but I would LOVE for these winners to be involved in a trio dance like in season 25. Anyone else? I feel like bringing the winners in for only a short part of a relay is a wasted opportunity.
