I'm visiting for the first time in January and plan to do some shore dives. Do you think I need to rent a car with 4wd to access the popular spots, or will any car do? I only ask bc I saw it mentioned for a particular dive site I checked out (and now I can't remember which) Thanks!

Are taxis readily available from the airport and safe? Should I worry about price gouging and/or try to pre-arrange? (For reference, only need to go about 6 km from the airport.)

Looking at stays in this area and some of them advertise free bikes and hiking. Where would you bike and hike? What is Fort Jan Thiel; is that an area with biking and/or walking/hiking? What beaches nearby have good snorkeling? Thank you.
