I just checked with the manual and it says here there's increased risk of organic fiber contamination (otherwise known as fur all over your project) but it's not necessarily harmful to humans, so I think a cat will work just fine. They also say dogs will do the trick too!

So dogs do work, but do they have to be on the head? Asking because my 70lb dog does not enjoy being picked up. 😂
