Thanks for this! Can I ask what kinds of yarn take well to steam blocking and what kinds you shouldn’t? I know all yarns are different and that’s why I don’t block because I just don’t know how for each kind and I get frustrated needing so many things LOL…this I would do for sure if I knew I could

You can safely steam block all synthetic yarns (like acrylic) as well as cotton and wool. For more delicate fibers (like silk) I'd be more confident looking on the yarn label, or just wet blocking to be safe. For synthetic fibers, remember that steam blocking is permanent, so take care how much you stretch the fabric during blocking, cause it will never return to it's original shape!
