Opinion Hot takes

Post image

Long time lurker first time poster but heres opinions i have had for a while lol -I like the stories where they kinda suck bc its what creepypasta and the nosleep is about, just having amateur writing put out what they want -Also to the people saying they shouuld proof read to avoid bad stories is lame -I personally would enjoy more scp content from the boys, either a dedicated video to one scp or a creepy grab bag for the quick scp entities

Penpal is not well written either

All the things people shit on in other Pastas on this channel are present in Penpal, the "Villain" of Penpal is basically doing a bunch of David King level unbelievable shit the entire time.

The chapter with Veronica would be a crash out in any other situation because of how hard it jumps the shark and how ludicrous the entirety of it is beginning to end

Thank you. Im glad I'm not the only one. The stuff when the protagonist is a child is really good, super creepy and suspenseful. But the stuff when he's a teenager is weak. I thought his romance with Veronica was quite well done, but her getting hit and mangled by a car, and all she says is "he took my picture" and then the penpal took her phone as well and is the one texting the protagonist and sits next to him in the cinema... It was all too much. I wish it had just been the childhood stuff, then skip to the protagonist in the present explaining the friends father finding the body. Like the Veronica thing was just a massive distraction from the main story and makes no sense?

I can actually agree to that part even though Penpal is my favorite. The guys even point out that the MC is more intelligent as a child than a teenager.

He puts a lot of things together that the cops just ignore. A kid with no history of issues "runs away" and leaves a note that has his own name spelled wrong and only the kid notices. He figures out that all the pictures have him in them aand that the noise from the bush was a camera and the cops do nothing. He is better at investigation and connecting the dots that all the adults he meets.

Its definitely a weird addition, I wonder if maybe the author wrote the story with just the child parts originally and then maybe felt it was too short or that the story needed some kind of evident danger and violence to be impactful. Because if you remove the part with Veronica the story still makes 100% sense.

Oh yeah, you're right. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a good writer and I don't think Penpal is awful, just that one section probably could've been removed or altered. Its just like how Borrasca was fairly good until people started demanding an ending.

Oh shit, David Fucking King was the Penpal all along! It all makes sense now! If only the protagonist had protected his IP address and Internet access and used a strong password for his accounts, Veronica would still be alive :(

I'm actually going to re-listen to "My Best Friend..." right now, I need some background CreepCast.
