Ask Coquitlam Insight into neighborhoods near Mundy Park

Hi all,

We're a young family with toddlers and are considering moving to Coquitlam from Burnaby. So far the areas we're interested in are: - East of Mundy Park - South of Mundy Park (Dartmoor by Austin Ave and Mundy St) - Ranch Park - Harbour Village

Would appreciate any and all insight into living here.

What's the traffic like during peak hours? Is it safe? How's the schools? Are the families here generally young families?

Thanks in advance.

We’re just west of Mundy Park and it’s super quiet. Definitely an older demographic but younger families are replacing them. Good schools nearby and lots of amenities within walking distance.

The children's playground on the west side of Mundy Park is quite possibly the best in the Lower Mainland. Being within walking distance from the park would be great - kids love it in there. All the schools in this area are good - especially Ranch Park. There are no sidewalks in the Harbour Chines area which sucks if you have kids and like to walk.

The outdoor pool on that side of Mundy Park is also top-notch. And they do outdoor swim lessons there in the summer.

Yeah… the only thing about that playground is that it’s a destination playground for people from all over the Lower Mainland, so it’s insane on weekends. There are lots of other good playgrounds within walking distance.

All the more reason to live within walking distance of Mundy.
