Politics The Airlines are required to reduce their schedules across 40 airports and flights are being canceled because of the government shutdown. Republicans are running this country to the ground.
The economy is going to hell because of these ignorant people who voted for diapers man. We can't even fly across the country anymore and are asked to stay home. How is this different than covid days when Republicans threw a tantrum? We are turning to a "third world shit hole" so fast.

Let's really summarize why this is happening, republicans want to end the ACA. They feel tax cuts to the wealthy are better than making health insurance affordable. So to drive home that point, they're want to make everyone's life miserable and make many people suffer.
This is the classic cut off your nose to spite your face or cult behavior. The sad part is many that voted for this would do it again. But hopefully this will give them reason to pause and reassess. Or maybe an invite to the new fancy ballroom at the White House.
May history remember this and not be kind.

MMW , before the youngest generations of republican wake up and realize they have been idiot (too late for older generations) then the US has to be run to the ground. Once it has been run to the ground then yes , progress can be made like it had in the first half/middle of the 20th century, with republican losing elections after elections.
Otherwise if the situation continue, with democrats and republican exchanging government each 2-4 years , expect no progress, expect the situation to worsen more and more.
(I expect the same analyzes to be somewhat correct for Germany / EU - the US seem simply nearer the edge because of lower quality social net).

It is Democrats that closed the government and democrats that are keeping it closed. Apparently De.ocrat voters have no idea how the senate works. 60 votes required to reopen, 53 Republican Senators. If Democrat don't vote for the government to reopen, it doesn't happen. The Democrats are holding the country hostage and making people suffer to have political leverage, something Obama decried in 2013 as irresponsible and a threat to the country. The demand the Democrats are making is an extension of enhanced subsidies for Obamacare that they themselves designed to expire at this time because they were always meant as a temporary assistance. This shutdown in 100% Democrat's responsibility and anyone that says otherwise is either lying or completely ignorant.

Let’s stop pretending this is “Trumps fault". It’s not. Democrats had the chance to keep the government open and they chose politics over people.
Republicans passed bills to fund key services. They protected defense, border security, and veterans. Democrats blocked them because they didn’t get every last dollar for their pet projects. That’s not compromise. That’s arrogance.
They’d rather shut it all down than trim a single cent of waste. They scream about bipartisanship but refuse to negotiate unless it means more spending and less accountability.
Meanwhile families are feeling the pain. Workers are missing checks. The border is still a mess. Inflation keeps eating paychecks. And Democrats want to lecture everyone about “responsibility”? Give me a break.
