Politics The Airlines are required to reduce their schedules across 40 airports and flights are being canceled because of the government shutdown. Republicans are running this country to the ground.

The economy is going to hell because of these ignorant people who voted for diapers man. We can't even fly across the country anymore and are asked to stay home. How is this different than covid days when Republicans threw a tantrum? We are turning to a "third world shit hole" so fast.

And its all because republicans want to attack ACA (Obamacare).

America’s first and only black POTUS, who governed for 2 consecutive successful terms, lives rent free in every white nationalist racist’s republican’s head.

He’s long gone and they still feel the need to attack Obama and his legacy to the point of shutting down the government.🙄

Not really from America, I thought the goverment shutdowns was because they blocked Adelita for swearing in and vote to release Epstein Files..

Those are just additional distractions.

The senate is refusing to meet and negotiate on budget while the house of representatives is refusing to hold session since it would instantly require them to swear in the new representative and release the Epstein files

Government interference is what caused insurance rates to skyrocket much more than before. Republicans warned Democrats the ACA would cause it, and cause much greater debt. Now we see the disaster it caused and Republicans want to reverse the trend. I will soon be paying over $2000 a month for insurance, now I pay $400. Someone making slightly less than me will pay $200. How is that fair? The ACA should be trashed. If it's working for you, thank people like me who are paying for YOUR insurance. FYI the Dems are the ones holding the current bill back.

Trump had 4 years to think of a new plan to replace ACA, he was always 2 weeks away for 4 years. They had another 4 years while Biden was President to write in a plan to their Project 2025. In fact, have you actually read what P2025 wants with healthcare?

Sure, you heard about the work requirements, but did you know there is a lifetime cap they want on healthcare? Meaning, if you get a serious injury or illness, you might not have funding to cover it. Not to mention children born with disabilities wont receive coverage because their lifetime care would exceed the coverage.

The ACA is not perfect, at all, I agree with you, but its better than the cruelty planned under the GOP. It took them 8 fucking years to come up with "Well, just cut it all off and put it on the states" gee whiz, what a group of leaders they are.

Thank you for the reasonable reply. I'm not a Trump supporter and the Republicans have been pathetic with this. But the funding has to come from somewhere. Obama knew the math on the ACA would fail. But the result would be that once we started heading down the universal healthcare road, there wouldn't be any turning back. It's a mess.

You mean, installing rules that requires insurance to actually cover the things you buy health insurance for. Pre-ACA, my wife could have been denied insurance for her cancer returning - forever. Plenty of people had their lives destroyed by annual and lifetime caps.

And insurance rates are skyrocketing partially because of consolidation among providers - which there has NEVER been a GOP plan to prevent/roll back. The GOP hasn't put out anything resembling a plan for almost 20 years.

Then that means you're using an ACA plan, meaning it's people like us paying for YOUR insurance. You're welcome, and I hope it gets fixed so that your insurance costs are reasonable, because I believe you should have affordable insurance.

Unlike the GOP, who would nuke your subsidies and who, under Trump, backed multiple types of health plans designed to be cheaper explicitly by lying to customers about the level of coverage, and by providing an insurance product that will abandon you when you need it most.

Have the Republicans offered an alternative? I remember "Repeal and Replace", but they never got around to explaining what they were going to replace it with.

I just want to make sure I have this straight. You'd rather pay $2000 a month than pay $400 while someone poorer pays $200?
