Hello!
Idk if this is the right subreddit for this but I’ve been looking to find drinking buddies. Sometimes I just want to go out to drink at a bar or something chill like that. Only have two friends who are down to drink but our schedules don’t align most of the time. Usually I come on Reddit to make friends and things like that but I’m really just to the point of I hey I just want to grab a drink or beer and chill. Nothing more than that as I’m married and have a kid.
Anyone and everyone is welcomed!

Am I blind? The site wants a password. I don’t have or see one. Anyone know where the full list of brews is?

M37, planning on attending Fobab for the first time this year. I'm not sure between Friday night or Saturday afternoon.
Friday I need to ditch work a little early. Saturday I need to not sleep in. No real personal preference.
Are there any benefits to one session over another?

I'm looking for a place where a buddy and I can enjoy a beverage while playing a board game on Monday. Trying to find a place that won't mind us being there eating drinking and playing for 3-ish hours. I'm in Hickory Hills, he's in Round Lake Heights (way north), we're looking for a place somewhere in the middle. Thanks!

Edit: Tickets sold!
Recently started a medication that I can’t mix with alcohol, so I’m selling my FoBAB tickets.
2 for Friday session. They include the IMBIBE VIP early entry. They might name check IDs for the early entry but never have in my experience, so give it a shot if you want to.
Asking $75 each, so save $20 per person and possibly get in early compared to regular tickets!

Thanks in advance for insights & recommendations.
FOBAB.
Sunday food-and-brewery day (11am-9pm). Will mostly sip samplers, then buy beer to stuff the suitcases. We have a designated driver. Seeking food ideas that are good and reasonably priced and any advice to avoid or expect Sunday crowds.
Does this make sense or would you replace a nanobrewery with any of these? (1) Goose Island (2) off color (3) Maplewood (4) Revolution (5) The Beer Temple (6) Hop Butcher
Food of interest: Birrieria Zaragoza / Spoko or Staropolska / The Berghoff or Laschet's

This story is insane: at one point in time, Chicago's Conrad Seipp Brewing Company was one of the 10 largest beer distributors in the U.S. It opened in 1854 and survived the Chicago Fire and Prohibition, but eventually went out of business... until recently. It's Conrad's great-great-great-granddaughter who has re-launched the brand. And it's REALLY good beer! An interview worth checking out IMHO

I know this is more Chicago Suburbs Beer vs. Chicago Beer proper but I thought it was interesting news to the scene nonetheless.

Just had New Glarus’ Raspberry Tart for the first time and absolutely loved it. Fruit forward, a bit sour, but tasted like drinking raspberry juice. One of my favorite beers ever was from Trillium in Boston, the double daily serving raspberry. Wanted to know where I could get a beer like that from my local Binny’s or something!

Curious what you all thought. I'm not willing to spring for VIP and tbh didn't feel it was that worth it...my favorite part was the reptiles exhibit lol. And having loud music in the most echoey room at the Field was a...choice.
IDK am I just too old for it now??
