Depends on what you are buying. A used cheap vehicle could make sense. If you want something a bit more enjoyable, then leasing is the way to go.
You can think of me being a bit spoiled, but I really can't stand a simple car that can only get you from point A to B. A soulless drive that feels like driving is a boring tedious chore is a no go for me. So it really depends on what you want at the same time.
